Hey /fit/ can we talk about protein shakes? I've never made one before but I just got myself a blender so I'm thinking about starting. Are they worth doing? What recipes do you like? Is it true they taste like cardboard?

>vanilla whey
>greek yogurt
Plain greek yogurt, or vanilla-flavored?
Well anon whey is great but it's basically just concentratedon't milk protein so don't expect it to cause any drastic changes in your body, it will just help with hitting your daily macros. Also in my opinion optimum nutrition protein is fine but over priced, after years of lifting and over paying for whey from Popeyes nutrition (I'm in Canada lol) and other stores, a good buddy of mine showed me canadian protein .ca , probably the best place I know of for supplements.
Really good quality and free shipping over 99$, and if you are in the states they have a different site.

You can go flavored but just make sure it's no sugar added. I use vanilla. Dannon is a good brand for that, their Oikos flavored Greek yogurt is great.
2 scoops unflavored whey
2 cups milk
Fruit
Ice
Press blend button
It's pretty complicated I know. Oats, veggies or cinnamon are good too. Use some Greek yogurt if you want it thicker
I use ON Gold Standard Double Rich Chocolate with a mixture of Silk dark chocolate almond milk and lactose free, fat free milk, mixed in a blender bottle. Making it with only dark chocolate almond milk tastes great, but that stuff has a lot of sugar in it. Diluting it with lactose-free milk reduces the sugar and it still tastes pretty good.
I just bought a 5.5lb bag of Myprotein whey blend for $30 incl. shipping.
I'm never going back. Shit is cheap as all get out and tastes fine, mixes mostly well, and from what I've read, comes from high quality sources (as does ON)
