Is a 4 plate deadlift after 5 months of working out good progress?
>>
>>37004374
depends on your genetics
>>
i was deadlifting 800lbs in my first week of training pussy
>>
>>37004522
i hit 900 literally my second day
>>
>>37004374
You should be adding around 1plate/month for at least 6 months with good training/diet. You're a little behind but not bad.
>>
>>37004540
I hit 1205 on my first day
>>
>>37004540
I Deadlifted myself out of ur mom's wide gaping vagina you flaming faggot
>>
>>37004554
So I should be deadlifting 573lbs in 6 months?

Lol get fucked
>>
>>37004374
Yes, it's excellent, if it's true.
If you're doing it, you know that.
If you did it from no experience whatsoever and no athletic background or manual labour background you're a genetic freak and should immediately make powerlifting or bodybuilding your priority in life.
If you did it from a physical background, either through sports or manual labour, it's still good process but you should understand that you had a base of strength that helped you reach that level.
If you reached it with a coach, then you know it's good in a short period of time and just came here to brag, but not nearly as good as if you came to it from nothing or from building a base outside of weightlifting.
If you got it by jumping on steroids as soon as you started lifting then lol.

deadlifting is a meme exercise, enjoy your broken backs
>>
>>37004593
OP here

I played sports from 5 years old to about 17, the most physically demanding of them being rugby, but I was never very muscular, although I was decently athletic

But I was a twig when I started working out, 5'8" 130 lbs, now I'm 156lbs

i started on approx 90lbs deadlifts
>>
>>37004610
>deadlifts
>bad for your back
found the DYEL
>>
>>37004624
Yeah, so that's a good weight, especially for your bodyweight.
Is that 1RM or for 5? And conventional or sumo, trap bar or some other variation?
If it's conventional, and for 5, then it's really exceptional at your bodyweight after such a short time training and you should really consider pursuing weightlifting more seriously.
If it's a 1RM, or not conventional, don't get me wrong, it's still a good lift for four months, even with years of sports behind you, but it's not spectacular, probably top 25% stuff, instead of top 2% stuff.
>>
>>37004580
585. And yes.
>>
>>37004704
It was 1rm conventional

I honestly felt it was that difficult, but I just did 1 because I was worried I would snap my shit up
>>
>>37004746
Wasn't that difficult**
>>
>>37004746
Yeah, like I said, good stuff. If you're interested it's probably worth pursuing weightlifting more seriously, either as a powerlifter or competitive weightlifter or even a bodybuilder at your height (though you'll have to look at changing your training volume around).
>>
>>37004759
>>37004746

If true you have potential as a powerlifter srs a 4pl8 Deadlift at 156lbs after 6 months is incredible to the point where I find it hard to believe.

You did have 4 20kg plates either side right? You aren't one of these retards who thinks "pl8" just means to total amount of plates on the bar?
>>
>>37004778
I'll come back in a few months and ask for opinions on my numbers

For now I'm happy just training for hypertrophy and occasionally testing the three main lifts
>>
>>37004794
Really? I didn't even know it was that impressive, I was trying to touch base and see if I'm progressing well

yeah it was 4 20kg plates either side
>>
>>37004842
How much do you squat?
>>
>>37004374
I'm 6 foot and it took me 3 months, not trolling. I use symmetric strength and it tells me that my deadlift and bench are consistent with someone who has been training for 2+ years.
>>
>>37004610
>tfw i recognize that goofy
>>
>>37004842

Your deadlift is like 2.5x your bodyweight after 6 months, yes that is impressive since you are presumably not on any gear and probably not even eating right.

If you bulked up an extra 70lbs or something you'd be pretty beastly.
>>
>>37004849
I've been doubting symmetric strength for that reason
>>
I don't trust these threads unless I see pic or video.
And neither should any of you.
>>
>>37004849
You're all complete liars unless you've come from a physically intensive background.

I work in a gym and see guys come in from all walks of life, 85~% of them never progress past 3pl8 and it takes them at least 6 months to get there.

Those who do lift heavier are all farmers, pro-ballers, or work 40+ hours a week doing manual labour. Even they don't get 180kg+ DL within 90 days.

The more you E-Stat the more you discourage new people from continuing to lift, if you're a newbie please disregard the cocks being sucked here.
>>
>>37004845
my squat is atrocious, I have a lot of trouble with it mentally, like I always feeling like I'm in such a compromising position, which obviously can only be fixed with more squats

atm its 120 for 5 reps

>>37004864
5 months at the start of may

Yeah I need to get better at my eating, I basically just eat more of whatever I used to eat + 2 protein shakes a day
>>
>>37004842
Dude wtf is your routine to hit that?! At 200lbs 5x5 for almost a year I'm barely at 300lbs
>>
>>37004892

T B H I am giving him the benefit of the doubt and making it perfectly clear that if OP is indeed telling the truth he's a complete genetic freak who no one should compare themselves to.
>>
>>37004909
120kg i should say
>>
>>37004911
I did a full body 3x a week up until the start of april

now I'm doing a ppl + full body
>>
>>37004935
started working out on 1st december
>>
>>37004892
>>37004913

I'm honestly surprised this is anywhere near impressive, like I said before I just posted it to see if I was progressing decently enough for 5 months lifting
>>
>>37004935
Rep ranges sets etc? Any info you can give me would be super appreciated
>>
>>37004918
It's a little behind your DL, just be sure your form is good.

Either way it is actually impressive
>>
>>37004374
4 pairs of plates or 4 total plates? It's okay if you're retarded and meant to say 4 total plates. Don't be bashful
>>
>>37004892
I'm 185 and hit 3pl8 Diddy in 3 months, it's not that hard desu
>>
>>37004976
I can type it up for you, but I don't think it's anything special at all

My friend who actually trains athletes gave me the full body routine:

DAY 1

Squat, 5x5
Bench Press, 5x5
Pull-up, 3xF-2
Tricep exercise, 3x10

DAY 2

Deadlift 1x5
Overhead Press, 4x6
Thickness Row, 3x10 (t-bar/cable)
Bicep Exercise, 3x10

DAY 3

Bulgarian Split Squat, 4x6
Weighted Chest Dip, 4x8
Width Row, 3x10(underhand barbell)
Face Pull, 3x10

My PPL is your basic bitch PPL with a full body workout included, I can post if you want
>>
>>37005004
>Diddy
Deadlift, fucking autocorrect
>>
>>37005012

Yes please post it
>>
>>37004374
Why does the spot under my balls hurt when I deadlift? Not my asshole.
>>
>>37005065

hernia, go see doc
>>
>>37005065
stretch before
>>
>>37005032
Alright, like I said its just a common PPL

PULL

Deadlift volume
Barbell Row 3x8-12
Chin-up 3xF-2 (last set failure)
Face Pull 4x12-15
Curl 3x8-12

PUSH

Bench Press 2x5, 1x5+ or OHP 2x5, 1x5+ (alternate)
Incline DB press, 3x8-12
Lateral Raise, 4x12-15
Tricep Pushdown, 3x8-12
Chest fly (cable or db) 3x12-15

LEGS

Squat 2x5,1x5+
Leg Press 4x8-12
Back extension, 3x8-12
Leg extension 3x8-12
Calf Raise 5x8-12

Fullbody, normally I just fuck around on this and work whatever I feel like, but here is some structure:

Deadlift 5/3/1 OR Squat 3x5 (alternate each week)
Weighted Chest Dip or DB press 3x8-12
Barbell Row 3x8-12 or Leg Press 3x8-12 (depending on whether deadlift or squat)
Chinup 3xF-2 last set failure
Shrugs 4x12-15

but my full body is mainly just doing what I feel like, but I'll make sure to deadlift or squat
>>
>>37004374
I started deadlifting about 3 or 4 months ago and can DL 435 at 5'10" and 150 lbs, then again I come from an athletic background, although I'm fairly certain I can get that up to 455 in a month
>>
>>37005117
160 lbs*
>>
How does one deadlift without hitting oneself in the dick and balls?
I mean my dick is right there and the bar is obviously going to be up against it.
When I deadlift my dick is very often hanging over the bar how do I prevent this?
>>
>>37005131
Be a small pricked motherfucker.
:(
>>
>>37005131
Have longer arms
>>
One rep max deadlift is fucking gay. Have fun impressing old men and making shit all gains from it
>>
>>37005089
Which stretch do you recommend?
>>
>>37005209
Yeah, why would anyone want to test their strength? I mean, it's not like it's satisfying to notice progress or anything.
>>
If OP isn't bullshitting this is an example of someone with good genetics

His routines are basic as fuck, they are barely related to building strength for powerlifting, and yet (if true) he can pull 4 plates after 5 months

People with outstanding genetics like these can afford to mess around a little and still see better results than 90% of the rest of us

The top 1% of these are people with great genetics who actually work as hard as they fucking can
>>
>>37005131
Kek me too, the bar hits me right on the tip
>>
>>37004374
You know that when you say "X plate", you only count one side?
>>
>>37004892
This. Takes roughly year of being pretty serious to hit 4 plate for reps.
>>
>>37004374
no because it's not a progress, it's a stat.
how much did you start with?
>>
>>37004374
If you actually weigh about 50kg, are male and have short arms then that's good progress.

If you're a twink, female, or have long arms then this is normal progress
>>
>>37005019
Fucking kek
>>
>>37004374
i've been training 4 months and i havn't even reached 2 pl8

i know it's a troll but i see shit like this all the time and how the fuck do people deadlift so heavy
>>
>>37007146

Time, effort and genetics. Some people go in to the gym having already laid a pretty good base to build on. Some people are just crazy fuckers who'll put in more than is reasonable. And some people are just built to deadlift.
>>
>>37007146
Long arms. Seriously lad. If you have short arms then it's over.
>>
>>37007146
I can see it not being a troll.
4plate is achievable within that timeframe if you already come from an athletic background.
>>
>>37007146
>4pl8
>heavy
It is not something most people reach in 5 months, I'd even say it's extremely good for 5 months of training, but it's not fucking "heavy".

> pic is me
>>
>>37004558
I hit 1400 before I even started lifting
>>
>>37004374
Its ok, nothing impressive tho.
>>
>>37004374
Depends on how bad your form is.
I can only pull 3 plate for reps with picture perfect form but if I want to act like a big guy I can ego lift my way close to 5 plate on the snap city express.
>>
>>37007162
Short arms and femurs here, i can squat more to depth than i dl easily ;_;
>>
>>37004911

>>37004374
Yeah, it's excellent.

I believe it's possible if you come from an athletic background and are a long limbed guy. I started at a completely sedentary 170lbs, pulling 135x5 (and it was heavy) and got to 405 within 8 months.

>>37007146
You probably have short limbs, so your leverages for deadlift are shitty. On the bright side, you're probably an excellent presser and squatter.
>>
>>37008152
no you dont you faggot
