Cat with cow-spots.
It's stupid, but seeing her go from an anxious shelter-cat to what she is now makes me proud.

My gains are my pet. I spend maybe 1.5 hours of quality time with them per day, put them away when I go to work, feed them tasteless macro-balanced food, and find happiness vicariously through them.

Fuck yeah I do. I keep fish. Mainly bichirs. These cunts entered my home clocking at about 1" each, and now about two months later they're pushing six inches (the bigger ones). One of them has established itself as the alpha and has made the sickest gainz. I feed them beefheart and give them a 75g training ground.

Pic related, it's the sikk kent

Kek they literally just ambush slower moving fish. They're like a more aesthetic catfish

Just don't get dem silver aros and a 100gal tank should be fine for one adult aro. You can even go as low as 55g but 75-100g is """ fine"""

>>
>>36901891
Speaking from my personal experience with bichirs I have kept, aggressive bichirs that have gotten a taste for live fish actively pursue them. 3 of the ones I have kept were that way, giving chase. Of course it has to be a slower moving fish. Most are pretty chill though, yes.

Can't do it my man, I'm planning on building a pond to have 3-4 silvers/black aro. No justice putting a monster like that in a 100.

Mixed breed named Captain.
One of his parents was a full breed Boston Terrier, the other was a mix of French bulldog and beagle, so I've been told.
He's a pretty sweet little dude and he likes to run with me.

I always thought of fish more as a hobby than as pets. I mean, they're kind of cool, and interesting, and they look nice in an apartment, but like, they're stuck in a tank, they don't spend time with you, or interact with you or anything.

My housemate has a cat. She is real sweet, never scratches, and likes to rub on your legs. I like dogs a lot but I am not home enough to have one, it would be sad with me gone all the time. My parents have had a mini australian shepherd since I was in high school so I kind of have that dog I guess, I visit often.

You're right anon. For me it's a hobby, but I am very attached to them. Considering they do live pretty long lives, like birds or dogs, I still consider them good pets. It's less common with these fish, but handfeeding a fish is really fun. Or fish that play with your hand. I have a black ghost knife that will rest in my hand. Like straight up swim to it and lay there. Ran a few trials once where another person and I offered it food in different spots, and every time it came to me and not the other person. That was pretty neat. They do exhibit more character than you'd expect, if you take time to interact with them.

I understand where you're coming from though. If I wasn't allergic to everything with fur and feathers I'd probably have more than just fish.

I don't own a dog because I live in an appartent and I believe that it is torture to have a dog in such a small place.

I have a cat instead, who was given to me. I know he's fat and all, but he was raised that way. If he doesn't have food, he'll meow until he get his bowl filled. And honestly, I'll cave his head in if I have to let him meow like that non-stop.

Still as loving as a dog.

That actually sounds pretty nice. It sounds like fish can make nice pets and company after all, even if it is a very different pet experience from cats or dogs.
Glad you have a special friendship with the little scaly dudes. I know my dog makes life much better, so it's cool to think fish can do the same thing.

Work full-time? Monitors were $300. Monitor stand was $50. Keyboard was $130. Forget what the mouse was but let's just assume ~$100. $250 for GPU, $250 for CPU, $150 for HDD and SSD, ~$120 for case+ram+PSU, $100 for MOBO. Mic was $20 and speakers are cheap pieces of shit. Headpones were $100.

All-in-all, you're looking at $1500 not including desk and chair. $1500 is literally nothing. Let's assume you make $6 an hour after taxes. You'd be able to buy everything I bought after a month and half of working, with no other expenses of course. If you make just $15 an hour and work 40 hours a week, you're going to make over 20k a year. 1.5k isn't much. There are jobs out there that pay over 20k a year and don't even require a degree. Hell, just get a CCNP cert and you'll make some decent money.

Always had dogs all my life in the family. Never liked cat either. Didn't know what to expect when I was given this ball of fluffiness. I don't regret my choice though, he'll do anything for some love.
>>
>>36902978
why can /fit/ take care of their bodies and nutrition but not do the same for their pets?
>>
>>36903056
Like I said, I was given this cat. He actually goes outside and steal the neighboor's cat food too. I would put him on a diet but he'd just meow until he get something or go steal it somewhere. I do wish I could diet him though.

I used to have dogs and cats when I lived with my parents. Now, in college, I don't really have the time to care for a pet, though I'll probably adopt a dog and a cat when I start a family. It's important for children to have pets, it teaches both responsibility by learning to take care of something other than yourself and kindness towards other living creatures. Plus, animals are great--they're entertaining and fun.

It's a terrible, gut wrenching feeling. Her back legs gave out, she ended up having to shit in her bed for a couple months while I deluded myself she was going to fine. Finally enough was enough, but I couldn't convince myself to take her in, so my Vet made a 2 am housecall and we put her down in my living room.

I got drunk when the vet left and went outside in the frozen early morning with a pickaxe and shovel and made her a proper human deep grave. Snot was literally frozen to my face.
