There are a lot of people who do pull-ups to failure instead of adding weight. Since so many people have issues with dips, a lot of them do them without weight because of fear, "it's just assistance anyway". I had discussions about squatting technique with people who turned out to be doing fucking body weight squats in the gym. People are dumb, you have to specify fucking everything.

Just finished reading "Beyond 5/3/1 & -5/3/1 for powerlifting" these 5 lifts/exercises are the goto ones in the book. Sum up these 2 books:

1) chin ups/pull ups between every set
2) press should be #1 lift
3) conventional deadlift (because I don't know sumo)
4) dips between sets when your not doing chins
5) front squat because it has great carry over like cleans

You can't really "focus" on more than 3-6 exercises. Everything beyond that is "assistance" or "accessory"

The point is that treating those 5 as my "main lifts" instead of "binch/dead/skwaat" would maybe benefitial to someone who's not a competitive powerlifter.
