Why is it supposed to be hated? It's not like legs are special in any way in the way they're exercised or the way they grow.
Leg day is exactly the same as any other day, only you're training your legs, what the hell is their problem?

Plus, leg day is when you train your glutes so you can be a beautiful fuccboi.

In all honesty, my favorite exercise is the squat.

What is wrong with you nigga? That's even more of a reason to be working out your calves. Lots of people out there barely gain any size regardless of how much they work their calves, but with good genetics they can become "massive" through exercise.

Hit them with seated and standing calves twice a week and you'll have some sick ass calves.

I do DLs or PCs, squats, and glute bridges. If I'm not doing PCs I may do calf raises

I don't personally mind the DOMS from leg day. For me the killer DOMS are back and shoulders, since it usually gives me a headache the next day and a sleepless night.

I fucking hate standing raises on machine because i have to use whole stack and it does pretty much nothing besides bruising my shoulders and i don't want to occupy smith machine just to do calves. I used to do 4x15 with 5 plates seated but i think it's just wasting time, plus my calves are already bit bigger than my bis.

High-Bar Squat 3x6
Hyperextensions 3x12
Leg Press 3x10
Smith Calf Raise 3x12
Deadlift 1x8
Alternating Hip/Leg Lifts 3x12
+
Bulgarian Split Squats 3x10
or DB Weighted Lunges 3x10

Hyperextensions after Squats send you spinal erectors into overdrive.

The people that complain about leg day are the people who only do it once in a blue moon. Leg muscles are big so when they get flooded with lactic acid they produce the worst DOMS you'll ever have...and this is why they only do it once in a blue moon, which is funny because the DOMS can be massively reduced by training legs regularly.
