Sup /fit/
I come from the land of /g/ and need your help/advice.
I just started a new job and the schedule is wacky.
I need help/recommendations on how I should adjust my sleep schedule.
It's a night shift, cycles of two weeks; 12 hour shifts.
Week 1
Su - Off
Mon - Off
Tue - Off
Wed - 9P to Thu 9A
Thu - 9P to Fri 9A
Fri - 9P to Sat 9A
Sat - Off
Week 2
Su - Off
Mon - Off
Tue - 9P to Wed 9A
Wed - 9P to Thu 9A
Thu - 9P to Fri 9A
Fri - 9P to Sat 9A
Sat - Off
I start the shift of week 1 tomorrow (Wednesday), at 9PM, currently it is Tuesday 9:45PM
I worked on Sunday, two days ago, from 8A-8P, woke up at 6AM, went to sleep at 5AM on Monday morning; Woke up Monday at 12:45-1PM, went back to sleep at 6AM on Tuesday morning. Woke up at 1:15PM Tuesday day. Tonight I plan on staying up until 10AM on Wednesday. Today I took a nap between 3PM and 4:45PM, and another small session of laying down for 20 minutes about an hour ago.
So, my question is, what can I do to make the transition easier? Am I just totally fucking myself over? How should I arrange my sleep so that I can still work efficiently and have some time to do things on Saturdays and Sundays? I plan on signing up for the local gym and am thinking I'd go in the mornings after work, as well as on my off days, but it's been about 2 years since I last went to work out.
Thanks in advance.

That's what nurses do
Ask a nurse
>>36851279
I don't know any. So that's why I'm asking here
Also, I figure I should mention, I have medications on hand; melatonin, theanine, gaba, valerian root, chamomile; as well as caffeine pills and whatnot.

install gentoo
Do you want to be as close to "normal" as you can on your off days?
>>36851683
I mean, obviously it won't be normal, but something like going to sleep around early twilight hours (2-7 am) and waking around 11a-2/3p
That's what I'm sorta aiming for
>>36851710
How much sleep per 24 hours do you find that you need?
>>36851776
the more the better, I can do 5/6 minimum but try to average 7.5 or 9. I commute into work, so little naps on the bus can work;
>>36851810
Is your upcoming job seriously 12-hour shifts, or is that total time including getting ready for work/bed and commuting?
>>36851834
I'm already working the job, but was days Su-W 8a-8p.
It is literal 12 hour shifts, I can get ready and commute in about 1.5 hours, both ways included. So my total day dedicated to work is about 14/15 hours. I don't have many responsibilities outside of a cat and basic personal care, so it's not terrible imo.
So something like pic related?

Thank you for this. I really appreciate it
That looks decently okay to me. I will probably make minor changes as I go, but overall it looks nice.

I'm hiring you in the 2030's.

This picture depends on so many things, you can't just paste various body functions to time like that.

Didn't everything at least one degree of separation from GNOME teach you to never trust spanish-speakers to write open source software?
>funtoo
Shit doesn't even have musl in their profiles beyond an experimental developer one some dude asked for

Just use CentOS or Fedora
>>36852338
>>36852321
Any RHEL based distro is amazing. Except SELinux. Fuck that noise.
For non-enterprise/professional applications, Debian is just fine.

Thanks again, I super appreciate it
