How many chin-ups should a 164 lbs adult be expected to do?
>>
how tall are you
>>
depends where you are

among regular folk? 8 will impress them.

in the spetsnaz? 30 might begin to put you in doesn't-get-bullied mode.
>>
>>36850585
>164
>adult

Female perhaps. In that case lose some weight whale
>>
>>36850609
why would that matter
>>
>>36850693
because you might be 5'2 and fat as fuck
>>
>>36850609
>>36850689
>>36850702
5'11" pretty slim
>>
>>36850693
if he's 164 lbs and a manlet he'll have a shorter range of motion than 164lbs lanklet, making it more difficult for the lanklet even at the same weight.
>>
>>36850702
well, height shouldn't really matter for anything, I don't see a point for your question.
>>
>>36850711
Chinup numbers on guys as light as you are pure masturbation. You can probably do way more than 10 anyway so start doing them weighted.
>>
>>36850711
This isn't OP

My answer was here
>>36850737
>>
>>36850738
You see, I thought that too, but I can only manage 5 before I'm out. I don't know why because I can curl 50 easy enough and I'm almost at my bodyweight in the barbell curl.
>>
>>36850585
all of them
>>
Standards for 200+?

I can do 8 at 210 which I consider far from good but not complete trash tier
>>
>>36850585
Russian GTO ("Ready for Labour and Defence" training programm) norms for pullups:

Age 18-24:
bronze badge: 9
silver badge: 10
gold badge: 13

Age: 25-29
bronze badge: 9
silver badge: 10
gold badge: 12

It disregards physical stats though, probably just implies you shouldn't be fat.
>>
>>36850737
sorry to burst your bubble of ignorance but it does. each sport has its ideal height since height is proportional to limb length which absolutely is a massive deal in lifting.
>>
>>36850585
I can do 8 at 153 but Im aiming for 3x10 body weight to begin weighted chin-ups.

3x10 bw is expected especially if you lift
>>
>>36850805
this isn't the same though because the russians do dead hang pull ups and touch their throat to the bar at the top, which really is much harder than the kind of half assed pull ups typically done in the west.
>>
>>36850806
Whatever, buddy, keep living in insecurities, I have no problem with my height, whatever it may be.

>>36850809
How much weight will you begin adding?
>>
>>36850842
lol son, nor do i. i'm pointing out to what was an obvious gap in your knowledge, for your benefit. no need to get so salty, nancy.
>>
>>36850892
I just get tired of this stupid website talking about height like it matters so much, yeah I'm short, SO? like why do you care? Live your own life and mind your own business.

I don't know, man, just gets a bit frustrated when people talk about height in every single post on this board.
>>
>>36850950
dude i asked because it makes a difference. you might be a hungry skelly at 6'2 or a fat ball at 4'11 and i think that makes a big difference in how many you can do regardless of rom

calm down jesus i'm 5'7
>>
>>36850762

your back is pathetically weak then
>>
>>36850967
Yet you continue to talk about it, so screw you.
I can't even delete the thread anymore. I'm out of here.
>>
>>36850967

that might be the funniest height
>>
>>36850993
lol

has the manlet meme gone too far?

I can't find a list of the stats for this like you can navy PT. Got a source or link fampai?
>>
>>36850842
3x5 @ 5lbs
then if you can complete those add 2.5 next sesh and so on till you reach that challenging weight
>>
Chin-ups are significantly easier than pull-ups, I can still manage 20 pull-ups for a single set at 5'8 195 lbs. most days. Work on your back heavily is all I can advise.

Anyone with a basic understanding of physics know height matters. Your body is sort of like a lever. The farther something is from the fulcrum, the more force you will need to move it. Take your arm, for example. Your elbow is the fulcrum in this case. If your forearm is 5 inches long, it's going to take significantly less force curl and move an object in your hand than it would someone who has 15 inch long forearms.

If you don't believe me, do an experiment yourself. Take a really long 2x4 and a cinder block out to your car. Set up the experiment like the above picture. Afterward, press down on the end of the board. You'll find it is difficult to raise the car because the car is very far from the fulcrum (the cinder block). When you've had your fun with that, set it up like the bottom picture. Now the car is very close to the fulcrum, and it takes little force for you to move it.

You should count yourself lucky, shortstop. By being shorter and having shorter limbs, you put require less force to move an object. That means less force exerted on your joints. While a lanklet will probably have bum elbows in their later years from curling with such long levers, you'll be just fine.

chinups? do pullups fag
>>

>I just get tired of this stupid website talking about height like it matters so much, yeah I'm short, SO? like why do you care? Live your own life and mind your own business.

Because its about body composition you dumb idiot. For example, if someone is 200 lbs., it matters if you're 6'5, which at that point you're a skeleton, or 5'2, at which point you're a ball of pudgy fat.

fucking classic, I knew it.
Tell you what buddy, if you didnt make a big deal out of it FROM THE START nobody would have given you shit.
It was a pertinent question regarding chinups.
You have some serious work to do on your self esteem bro, height is not that important
>>
>>36850950
when will they learn
>>
>>36850805
I could do 12 when I was a skinny little shit back in HS (125 lbs). Now I struggle for 5 since I gained fuckin 40 lbs and I'm perma bulking till 1,2,3,4. The days I don't eat like a pig I can't make my lifts :(
>>
>>36853845
No GTO badge for you then
>>
I'm 5'9 and 150ibs and I do 5 x 8. I don't really know how to do weighted ones since we don't have any fancy hanging belt things at my shitty gym.
