But it's false, there's plenty of them, without even trying to go hipster-mode. Cavity-oriented toothpastes (as mainstream as colgate) are silica-free. Toothpastes with silica use it at a dosage considered safe and may carry other ingredients to protect the enamel. Squeezing bicarbonate and peroxide on your toothbrush is maybe even worse than a whitening strip.

I did this, but it was every second day, and whitening strips twice a day every day for an hour minimum.
I ended up with blindingly white teeth, but the enamel is completely fucked. One cup of coffee, coke, red wine, or any dark substance immediately stains them back to yellow, and they're sensitive af.
Would not recommend.
If you are dead set on getting white teeth, go with veneers.
