tfw you got permanent back damage and nothing will ever be the same again.

if I could trade all the squats and DL I ever did to unfuck my back, I would in a heartbeat.
>>
What happened
>>
>>36794804
yeah man fuck those exercises for making you preform them incorrectly!
>>
>>36794837
i tried to blow my bf while holding a bridge and threw my back out
>>
>>36794837
there is not a single incident. I had some back pain that would flare up during cardio, I talked about it to my physio and it seemed benign. it didn't hurt during resistance training, and it didn't hurt all the time. over about 3 years, it got worse and worse, ever so slowly. one day I realise that I have been living around it, but it became bad enough that I can barely walk for 10 minutes without it flaring up. I can't find a comfortable position to sleep in at night. I had to drop running altogether. physio still can't find anything specifically wrong, it's just in a general state of being fucked up.

>>36794850
you can make fun of me if you want, but I was always very aware of the importance of form. every now and then I would upload form check videos and they were always good, minus minor details. a slight buttwink, shoulders rolled forwards too much, it's all it takes. being reasonable, if one wants to push themselves and make progress, eventually they're gonna sacrifice form for that last few reps.
>>
>>36794972
Sounds fixable though
>>
>>36795002
I'll be talking to another physio soon, but I'm remaining realistically pessimistic.
>>
>>36795096
I have had lower back pain, got worse when I caught a falling old person ( you're supposed to let them hit the floor to save your back).
Agile 8 has helped massively! (Foam rollers and mobility atuff)
But now I'm getting a fluttering heartbeat and breathlessness. Sometimes being human sucks.
>>
>>36795096
Dont worry, dude. It's just a matter of avoiding the most offending exercises like squats and deadlifts permanently and quit jogging or doing other high impact activity until pain subsides, which will eventually do if you treat your back fairly.

Sounds like you need a lot of manual therapy and isometric strengthening (think planks in every direction and bird dogs) to recover the natural balance of forces around your spine so that it's stable when you move or apply force.
>>
>>36794972
If you are relatively young and healthy you don't just get back pain for no reason. You obviously fucked it yourself with incorrect posture, form... or something.
>>
>>36795096
Sounds like me, I tore a spinal disc when I fell forward when squatting (lost my balance) has been a year and still hasn't healed, i was seeing an osteopath and it was getting better up until a month ago when I hurt it carrying a drum kit up some stairs, gonna book some more appointments in soon and take it easy after

As a young person with a shitty lower back that lives with old people, this hit too close to home
>>
>>36795263
Sorry dude.
For what it's worth, the impact a fractured hip can have on an elderly person is massive. If you've saved them once, you may have saved their life and mobility.

Also, who said humans had to live with perfectly functioning bodies? Enjoy the ride.

I have a bad back too.

I have completely dropped deadlifts and squats and while it's not improving it's not getting any worse. I have had it for 2 years or so now so I'm presuming that it's gonna last for life.

Doesn't help that I also have a slightly fucked right shoulder and just pulled a muscle in my upper back today.

I don't get it really, I slightly sacrifice form on maybe my last rep of a set and it fucking injures me, yet I see Youtube videos of guys grinding the fuck out of all kindsa reps and they're fine.
>>
>>36795368
I've got a big dick so everything else is just a bonus.
>>
>>36795445
Was your back shit before or after you started lifting?

How do you make any kind of real gains without doing squats or DLs?
>>
>>36794855
How is no one else reacting to the fact this person got a bad back sucking dick? Did he at least end up cumming?
>>
>>36795477
My back was fine before, but like OP it slowly got shit through lazy form.

I've made much better gains since quitting those lifts because I work my lower body the proportionate amount that it needs, i.e. rarely.

Large quads are not aesthetic in any way whatsoever, and I don't really care about strength any more.

>rarely trains lower body
>doesn't care about strenght
>claims to have made better gains

Yeah that's not how it works, buddy. I'm not sure who you're trying to fool here. This entire thread just seems like one giant lie to get out of squatting/deadlifting. Saying you don't care about strenght implies that you're just spinning your wheels lifting the same weight and not bothering to progressively overload which indicates to me you're not making anymore gains and you're trying oh so very hard to get people on /fit/ to agree with your situation in order to make you feel better about the choice you made.

Have fun being that guy who lifts for 30 years and never gets passed noob gains.
>>
>>36795623
Actually you will have even less than noob gains because you're rarely training lower body and when you dos it's with leg extensions it leg curls or a leg press. Yep, enjoy wasting your time in the gym. You may aswell just not lift mate.
>>
>>36795623
being able to deadlift 500 pounds does nothing to your everyday life. jack shit. it's not worth the risk. you can be careful of your form everyday, eventually you're gonna mess up. all it takes is one fuck up to permanently damage your shit. woudl you rather be the guy who can deadlift 1 rep 500lbs but can no longer walk for one hour, or the guy who has a healthy weight and is reasonably fit and muscular
>>
>>36795663
You say that like there's no space in between
>>
>>36795622
Nope. Actually thought this was hilarious.
>>
Is this whole thread OP shilling a no deadlift/squat lifestyle?

No surprise. OP is still a faggot
>>
I have chronic lower back pain too from abusing it at my job. Approaching 30 here and I no longer see any reason to care about having big legs or anything. I just do the lifts I can do at this point that won't cause me injury, and I continue on with my life. I lift because I have nothing else, not because I want to be big or strong.
>>
>>36795945
why do you say you have nothing else man?
>>
>>36796039
Dead-end job with high stress and low pay, no social life, no girlfriend or friends. I can't even afford internet. I'm on my phone. I don't know what I live for at this point.
>>
>>36795945
The fuck are you on about cunt.

I am 29 years old and back squat, front squat, deadlift, stiffleg deadlift and Ive never had a back problem from doing it and I am the strongest, leanest and most muscular ive ever been in my life.

You're like Jason Genova with your "muh too old for this" - Fucking excuses.
>>
>>36796140
is there anyone at work you can go out for a beer with?

do you have time for night classes or some shit?

You should do your best to change your situation if your not happy. Don't just sit there and take it up the ass without trying to fight back.

Lol no.
>>
>>36796190
Thanks, man. I can't really do normal things with people at work because I've worked graveyard for years, and the people I do work with, I'm their boss, so I can't hangout with them anyway. I've tried a couple times and it got me into horrible situations at work that made me realize it was a mistake.

You're right though, I'm tired of laying down and taking it. I've started applying to other jobs, and although I haven't gotten any calls at all, if I do nothing, for sure nothing will change.
>>
>>36796253
that blows that there's not many people you can relate to at work. I understand, that boss/subordinate hierarchy is hard to keep if you come off as too friendly. Although there are people who understand this relationship, but they are few and far between.

Try and work towards little goals to make your life better. Do you have an outstanding credit card? pay it off. Keep applying for jobs.

Hope you can make it through.

Im 5'6 ultra manlet. ive lifted in highschool but only as a curl bro who didnt eat high enough calorie and protons. when i turned 21 i saw fit and started hardcore eating til i threw up and lifting heavy. all my lifts sky rocketed used to weigh 140ish and ended up weighing 175 but it only lasted about 8 months or so started slowing down on my 5th month. then i got married at 22 and got busy, but still dabbled here and then.

i got my career and life in check, currently 23
currently weigh 173 prlly water retention too since creatine. but i was going down back to 165 when i panicked.
i used to do 180 on my bench for reps 3sets 8 reps. slowly getting back up there.

what im trying to say is... is it too late to achieve my natty limit? did i start lifting too late.. or can i achieve my muscular natty mode.... im also permabulking i never rlly cut, unless by cut you mean eat a little less junk food..
>>
>>36796347
trying to achieve my natty limit before 28-30 by permabulking, or at least trying to without going to far. just want to know if i dun goofed. most big dudes ive seen who are massive bears told me they put most of their weight on in high school. cant help but wonder i fucked up.
>>
>>36795368
You're fucking a white male!
>>
>>36795663
I'd rather be the guy who can pull 500lbs, faggot.
>>
I wear a belt when I lift so I don't think I have to worry about any of this.
>>
>>36794804
Constantly icing it and getting a hand held massager will change your fucking life.

Learn some pressure points as well. Honestly that's what has helped me the most. Push really hard on an inch below those are tips of pelvic bone on your back. Right where the dimples are.
>>
>>36796140
I joined a martial arts gym and it's helped me make friends and build confidence. everyone is super welcoming of newbies and there is a surprisingly high proportion of females. besides, it'll be something to put your fitness to use.
>>
>>36796143
>I've never had back pain
>why isn't everyone like me
I have lingering back pain
It scares the shit out of me when I do squats and deadlifts, my progress is very slow because I am afraid of pushing it.

I had never even tried to pull a 2 plate deadlift till I saw that old lady do it and then I was pulling 255 pretty easy.

Still it scares the crap out of me and I really wish I could officially do replacement lifts. I don't want to be a cripple

Why do so many people disregard these very real and serious concerns?
>>
>>36794972
>can barely walk for 10 minutes without it flaring up
Wat? So, are you telling me that if, per se, you were to walk to the grocery store, you would have back pain by the time you got there? That doesn't just happen one day. You should have stopped rigorous exercise altogether after first feeling pain outside of the gym.

Also,
>I had to drop running altogether.
Implying you're still going to the fucking gym?!?! Who the fuck does this shit? You can't sleep or walk but think lifting weights is a-ok?

Seriously, stop exercising, you idiot. I guess these are the kinds of obsessive people who take steroids. Do you even know if your problem is muscular or skeletal? Sleep on your back with a very thin pillow. Walk until you feel pain. See if the time it takes to feel pain during walking is consistent.

You don't have to drop the physio, but go to a back specialist. A doctor. You need X rays and maybe a cat scan.
>>
>>36797663
Okay look, if you get joint issues and pains from lifting, it's your fault for not lifting properly, your fault for not learning proper form from the beginning, your fault for letting your ego get ahead of you and progressing on weight when you shouldn't have.

Your insecurities caused your issues, not squatting or deadlifting.

Realize this, stop blaming the lift, it's you. Tens of millions of people around the world squat and deadlift without any issue.
>>
Might as well post my back problems since everyone else is.

21 years old, 6'2".

My lower right back usually hurts a lot during any extended amount of high intensity physical exercise that requires turning. Tennis is the main offender, but soccer and basketball can make it hurt too. If I don't take Advil and i play through it, the pain can extend almost 24 hours after I've stopped playing.wheneve that happens, it hurts like hell to sleep on my left side.
>>
>>36797908
>per se
KYS that's not how this works
>>
>>36797950
>didn't use proper form
When I was in 7th grade they had us do squats with hardly any direction. I hurt my back and it would take my 7 minutes just to get out of my desk. This lasted a week.

I feel like I have had a weak back ever since.

Also not everyone is built the same and people hurt their backs in other ways. I've picked up toys and hurt my back.

>stop blaming the lift its you
Fine, I am ok with that, I am not perfect 100% of the time and that scares me. I would like an alternative please.
>>
>>36797950
>stop blaming the lift, it's you
Rofl. How delusional can you be?

Tfw small disc hernia l5/s4 from diddling. still squat and diddly tho. Anyone else?
>>
I had a severe car accident and was told to never squat or deadlift. I can't do anything that would ever compress my spine. I feel your pain

Lifting has improved my quality of life a lot.

Up to 250kg squat and 280kg deadlift.

Try changing your diet to a non-inflammatory one. At least experiment with cutting out known problem foods like wheat, dairy, lentils, etc. Sounds like bullshit, but it worked for me with nerve pain.
