Post your current stats or progress.
I'm almost 8 months in on a strength focused program and I went from 90kg and 20 score (over 20%bg and sedentary lifestyle) to 78,5kg and 52 score, starting to see the outlines of my abs in really good light.

Tell me your story.

Went from score of 30 to 62 in 8 months, I'm now the same weight as when I started but I look so much better. Keeping up the bulk until after exam season and cutting for 3 months over summer to look better for going to uni in September.

Started lifting in July but was stupid and made literally no progress. Got serious and actually followed a program (that reg parks beginner routine infographic that floats around) in November. On 5/3/1 now and making great progress. My chest and deadlift are pathetic but my deadlift has gone up 40 pounds just in the last two months just from fixing my form and adding heavy farmers walks for grip strength. Hopefully I can figure out the bench press form soon. Am I doing ok?

Guess who's going to add some light weight benching every day? ME!

Managed to grind out 76.5kilos for 5 reps yesterday, the last one almost killed me, might add an extra 5x10 at 40kg to every workout at the end even on days i bench at 90% weights for 5x5, would that help me?

I was anorexic a few years back and bulked too hard and got still fat from mistakes made years ago.

cutting fuckings sucks
slow bulk is awesome
>>
>>36710814
I started sorta skinnyfat, but I've been lifting on and off (emphasis on *off*) through my teens doing brosplits and shit. Did 1 month of ICF like a year and a half ago then didn't lift after until I restarted.

I'm content with where I'm at, but I'm ashamed of my pitiful deadlift (probably gonna have to deload from 110 and sort my form out).
>>
>>36710777
sorry, i meant 90% of my 5 rep max for 5x5. i haven't tested 1rm for so long and made so much progress it's meaningless right now

2 months ago my 1rm squat was 105kg, now i get 110 for 5 reps. my deadlift 1rm was 120kilos and now i get 135kg for 5 and it was easy

two weeks and i'll do another 1rm day, one more week of training and 5rm prs, and then a deload week
>>
>>36710629
I did low amounts of gear for about 4 yrs, nothing like bodybuilders do after 2 injuries to my elbow & 2 knee surgeries. I grew up in lifting, dad had a ton of custom made equipment (bench, 2 racks, leg press, 2 lat towers) all custom made. So I was deadlifting over 500 for reps as a teen. I got to train/be coached by alot of high level coaches, they all would refer to me as freakish because how easy the deadlift & squat were. My bench on the other hand always seem hit or miss. At local small comps they used to ask me to compete against the men so the teens could have a shot when I was a teen.

Tore my labrum, bench has suffered since then.
Though i don't think the triceps thing is accurate, it wouldn't let me go above 10 bodyweight dips, which are the only ones I really do because i'm paranoid about re injuring my shoulder.

Anyway, 175, training consistently for 4 months but have been lifting on and off for 3 years (injuries love me)

>>
>>36711059
Think about this. You'll make him become some fag that goes on 4chan to talk about lifting.
>>
>>36711059
No regrets, my dad never forced it & rarely trained in front or with me, but made himself available. And by the time I was 16 I had buddies to train with regularly. Most of the lifting we did together was manual labor chores (12 hrs chopping wood wk, throwing straw bales, shoveling gravel)

I was around 120lbs/<60kg when I started. I still have a tiny-ass stomach even though I eat 4 meals a day now. Just like eating is tempation to some, not eating is my temptation. So yea I guess that's it.

Was also on a trash routine for the first 6 months, naturally enough. As well as just doing volume for a while after that. Started focusing on strength like 5-6 months ago so I wasted my noob gainz ;_; Everything is going up very steadily now, though.

I'm >>36710765, while my Squats are rising, my Press is my best and will be "proficient" soon.

You'll get good at what your genetics want you to be good at, in your case you're well built for some naughty squats. Keep it up SS bro.
>>
>>36714365
Last cut I did I dropped 22lbs(much of which was pre-fit fat) and during it I never had the energy to move the weight I was doing beforehand. All lifts dropped about 20lbs but everything bounced back within a month of bulking.
>>
>>36714401
thanks a lot man, I actually feel way better. Was thinking of switching to Candito's though because I don't really feel like I need the high squat volume since it goes up so easily (and the DOMS is getting brutal at this point), and I would actually like to deadlift and bench more often.
>>
>>36714436
Don't take me as an authority, but you could start doing Front Squats (do them on the middle of the week or something) if shit is getting heavy.

+if you want to deadlift more, you could do light deadlifts (75% 3x5) instead of cleans.

Obviously these are just tips I'm parroting, so if you want decent advice from someone who knows their shit, I've always found /plg/ helpful.

1-3 isnt reps
4 is almost reps
5 and above is reps

cause 1-3 is pretty much bad form, very hard reps

4 reps youll still struggle on the fourth very much and itll be essentially 3 reps of alright form

5 reps is good reps
