Does fit know that shrimp are pretty much pure protein? Found this out last night. For 99 calories, they have between 21-24 grams of protein. Each gram of protein is 4 calories, so 84-96 calories out of 99 are pure protein. Why drink shakes when you could eat shrimp?

Because shrimp is more expensive? Because shakes requires a lot less effort? Because shakes go down quick and easy? Everyone might not like shrimp?

You're not wrong, but shrimp are one of the few proton dishes that I do not like the taste of. Why eat shrimp when you got tasty cod and chicken?

I already eat quite a bit of shrimp. I get the frozen bags and take a handful out put em in a bowl of lukewarm water for 15 mins to thaw. Hit oil in a skillet somewhere above medium then throw them in and season with whatever.
Be cooking rice while this and then you can combine them for a delicious healthy meal

NHB spiny lobster are literally giant shrimp (the lobster name is not entirely correct) and you can get them for cheap for swimming a little bit out of the beach (if you live in FL or the Gulf or CA or the AU) and looking under rocks. Cardio and free seafood in one go.

>>
>>36703226
>Cholesterol is harmful for everyone.
NHB all studies that used actual metabolic kitchens in the studies (meaning: their results are actually accurate) have involved people eating (usually significant) caloric surpluses. Also there are both things that both LDL and heart disease show greater correlation with than cholesterol intake, for instance caloric surplus.

There is definitely a correlation between cholesterol and heart disease, but a definitive causative link has not been established.

Your best bet to stay healthy is cardio and maintaining a BF% between 10-15%. Calorie restriction helps you live longer too. Ideally you should be in the low end of maintenance intake outside of bulking and cutting. If you're really concerned about it avoid cholesterol while bulking.

most of people probably only have expirience with shit seafood, which is unfortunate because seafood is literally goat food.

Especially in my country, it's one of the best seafoods in the world (if not the best) and if sperglords from 4chan would actually tried it they would never dare to talk shit about seafood.

Pretty sure that shrimp is a shitty protein source because your body can't utilize the types of aminos as well as other meats.

Thankfully I live on an island in the North Atlantic (Newfoundland) where seafood is a regular staple.
I eat cod or other ground fish 3-5 times a week, shrimp and scallops at least twice a week, squid regularly, octopus regularly, crab and lobster and mussels regularly, salmon regularly. Fuck it would suck to give that all up.
>>
Y'know I'd eat shrimp if it wouldn't kill me in one of the most horrifying ways possible. Remember kids food allergies are fun
>>
>>36706331
shrimp cook super quick, you almost can't fuck it up. If you are buying raw, make sure you make a small cut from the back of the neck to the tail and get that black stuff out, which is literally the poop chute.
>>
>>36703812
It does not determine because different people have different baseline cholesterol level but this is just another myth of the myth.there are hypo and hyperresponders.
You cant simply put aside thousands of peer reviewed studies in metabolic wards( the best) showing negative impact on serum cholesterol ( same for saturated fats)
>>
>>36706474
So you're saying dietary cholesterol and dietary sat fat are the biggest determinants of serum lipid profile?

Because I know I'm allergic to it and it's dangerous for me to eat.
>>
>>36706527
I did not say that. It depends on the person as there are hyper and hyporresponders to cholesterol intake, their baseline level( it wont increase if its already high)
Theyre one of the risk factors along with being overweight, sedentary etc. But you dont need to be fat to have high cholesterol and higher risk of heart disease. If you eat like crap ( shrimps and lots of eggs, coconut oil , butter bacon.. ) you will still increase that risk which is already pretty high. Plaque formation begins in utero.

I can post sources if youre interested.
I
>>
>>36706652
I've read a few sources lately (peer reviewed but they can still be wrong) that were basically pro keto. Showing heart disease risk associated with carb intake and others showing no heart disease risk with fat intake. I recall several on dairy fat in particular which showed a reduction in heart disease risk. I'm curious about this because I'm a fit person and want to live forever, but it's hard sometimes to see with clarity the causes if you remove obesity and sedentary life from the picture.

If you have a few choice studies for sure I'd love to read them.
>>
>>36706720
There are so many studies i probably cant fit them all here. Here are a few.

"dietary cholesterol increases the concentrations of both circulating LDL and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol in those individuals who experience an increase in plasma cholesterol following egg consumption (hyperresponders). It is also important to note that 70% of the population experiences a mild increase or no alterations in plasma cholesterol concentrations when challenged with high amounts of dietary cholesterol (hyporesponders)." http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16340654

Ayyy, my fellow Arizona bro! Where even the shittest cuts of fish or seabugs are more expensive than premium-quality beef.
>>
>>36701883
All animal products are pretty much pure protein, except the ones that are pure fat like butter or cream cheese. I mean a lot of them have fat with the protein but that's good for you too. Shrimp is a lot more expensive than protein powder. It's good to have once in a while though because it has some minerals that are hard to get like copper.

If you're talking about the effect on telomeres, if I remember rightly you only have to do that once. If you restrict calories enough at one time when you're young you never have to again.

this is only because people tend to eat shit and if you restrict calories you'll eat less shit

No, that isn't the case at all. Look into the research: supposedly caloric restriction affects your genes in a way that makes you live longer. You could eat terrible stuff the rest of your life and you'd still have the advantage from that caloric restriction you did once (even if you'd end up dying young from diabetes or heart attack).
