i have inflamed sciatica, got a phisio treatment yesterday and i'm taking anti inflammatory (my gf is a nurse and gave me some strong ones) , it doesnt hurt anymore even when i stretch, should try to lift again tomorrow? it wasnt bad, i could still snatch and back squat, pulls front and jerk were very painful tho.

I started doing it last week, got a friend who is a crossfit instructor and convinced me in "joining" his weightlifting class once per week (he does courses everyday but once a week he focus on weightlifting only). He is pretty serious (lots of certifications and i know he trained with various medalists) and take max 6 people at a time to train but fit kinda brainwashed me in hating crossfit so i don't know if i should completely trust him.

I asked him if I could train everyday and he told me that it's ok, or even better to get the technique going. Is this ok?
He also told me i should foamroll and make mobility work at the start every workout even if my mobility is good... seems kind of overkill to me what do you think?

Also i feel like a wimp doing 60kg cleans and 40kg snatches, it's like starting lifting all over again.

Do what he says. Foam roll+mobility is not overkill. You're lucky to not be starting on an empty bar or a stick desu. Just cos you're strong enough to 'clean' 60kg doesn't mean you're doing it properly... Look at norse for example

Im struggling with my right ankle mobility, i have foamrolled and stretched everything from my toes to my hips, and it just doesnt fucking work. I suspect its an old injury from twisting my ankle or some shit.

Anyways, what can i do to compensate for this? It throws me off bigtime when i squat to full depth without sleeves (le tme bounce out of the hole before my ankle mobility fucks me up).

I heard turning your feet out is a way of compensating for ankle mobility,, is this what aleksey is doing in this pic?

If anyone has any input, please give.

So the shoes were gucci, cleans and snatches felt great but my working set squats were pretty terrible. Kept coming forward out of the hole and almost turning it into a good morning because my balance felt off throughout the movement, like it was too far forward..

Hi guys I'm new to olympic weightlifting (and lifting weights in general but I want this stuff to be my focus)

I did some Overhead Squats today and I didn't feel my lower back tighten or restrict me while I was squatting (and it used to, so that's progress I suppose) - but after doing a few squats it felt very sore and tight. It didn't really limit my mobility as I continued but it's locked up now
