Watch tv till 11, then maybe hang out in the silence of my house on my phone or something. Then I do my ritual of wash face, apply face product for maximum beautious skin that will last in my aging, floss teeth, brush teeth. Take dogs potty, make sure all doors are locked. Go to bedroom, change into pajamas, lock door, pull covers back to make sure no buggies. And then i get into bed and roll around in discomfort because my bed sucks or something and wake up 7+ times during the night until I wake up at 6 to get ready for work.

It's quite monotonous.

I do both actually. I dont shower at night before the day I lift cause Im gonna smell like shit when Im sweating in the morning. I prep gym bag with fresh clothes, hygene bag zip it up and put workout shirt shorts on top of it.

When I wake up put shirt and shorts on, wash face, stretch make coffee/breakfast, and chill for about 45mins before I carpool to Uni. Lift, shower.

I only shower in the mornings on my off days from school/lifting cause Im not rushed.

Alcohol just gives empty calories and even more restless "sleep." Most people don't sleep well because our society is such that we never get exhausted, and compensate with whatever Pfizer wants to push that day.

Just don't sleep if you don't want to. It can be pretty fun. Eventually you'll regulate. But this is all predicated on no drugs at all. Nothing.

The closest thing I have to a routine is:

Brew tea (nothing with more caffeine than green tea)
Drink tea + shitpost
Once tea is done, head to bed
Do passive stretching routine for lower body (stretches that I can just relax into)
Sleep

The combination of slow tea drinking and relaxed stretching really has me ready for sleep. I have had a quite strict sleep schedule for about 10 years now, so my sleep hygeine is excellent and I usually fall asleep within about 5 minutes of setting down, and normally wake up shortly before my alarm.

Bedtime is for sleeping. Don't fuck around doing other stuff in bed, like browsing your phone or reading. Don't lay around in bed unless you're going to sleep. Train your body to associate going to bed with falling asleep.

Your sleeping area should be dark. If you live in the city, streetlights and shit are too bright. Close your blinds, bedroom door, whatever you need to do.

Generally, prepare for bedtime at least an hour before actually going for bed. This means start doing things to relax and wind down, rather than things that are stressful or pump adrenaline. You should not go to bed with worries on your mind.

Use relaxation techniques to help fall asleep quickly. Things like focusing on taking slow steady breaths, focusing on your body relaxing from toes to fingertips, focusing on your eyes closing etc. This is particularly helpful if you can't sleep because you have things stuck on your mind that you keep thinking about.

Some people fall asleep sleep easier with some low volume background noise. You can experiment with this. I usually don't need anything, but I will sometimes put on some meditation music, while my wife likes to listen to monotone lectures, and my uncle likes white noise.

Most importantly, have a regular sleep schedule and stick to it. I wake up at 6am every day, even weekends, because the EARLIEST I need to get up during the week is 6am. If I am worn down and need extra sleep, I go to bed an hour or two early.

I have a fuckload of different teas. My favorite teas are straight green (Dragonwell or Jasmine), but we buy lots of different stuff. My wife has some kind of compulsion where she needs to try any new things that she sees, so we usually have like 20 random teas in stock at any time. Some of my favorite grocery store teas are Twining's Goodnight Blend and Honeybush Mandarin & Orange.
