What's you're're Resting Breath Hold, /fit/?
Basically, how long can you hold your breath? This is a test of how efficiently your body can use Oxygen and CO2.
Post your time and if you do any aerobic work.
Here's the process:
>Sit and relax for 10 minutes (if you've been sitting at your computer for 10min you're ready to go)
>Once you feel relaxed begin oxygen loading by DEEP-BREATHING slowly. Do so for 60 seconds
>Don't hyperventilate
Timing Breath Hold:
>At end of oxygen loading, exhale last breath as fully as possible and
take the largest-deepest breath possible - start your timer
>Close the eyes and relax.
>end time at beginning of next breath.
I can do 85 seconds. I occasionally ride my bike, but that's it. I'd like to see how swimmers and runners fare
2min

4 to 5 min

I'm about to try this, but I always fear that I will take in too much air and damage my lungs?
When I've tried this in the past, if I breath in "fully" it hurt and feels cold. I always pussy out and never fully breathe in.. Is it possible to overfill your lungs?
But yeah. I'm gonna try in a minute. On tren though so my breathing is shit already lol. I'm tired from taking a piss.

I could do about 2 mins when I was a kid and we would try to stay underwater for as long as possible.

lmao1min
>>36658599
Just tried it. I had the timer in my hand but forgot to press start and just counted in my head instead.
Got to 12 seconds and then freaked out because my lungs felt too full... FUUUG
>>36658599
Go brave. You can not burst yourself and you can not kill yourself by not breathing in. Unfortunately.
>>36658432
93 seconds.
I haven't done any cardio since October.
Swimmer here, 3min. But I don't train to hold my breath longer. I already did 4min+ with hyperventilating. Still blows my mind how some people can last 10min, even 6 or 8 is impressive.
125 seconds, all i do is lift and occasional conditioning (prowler sled, farmers, etc.)
>>36658705
May or may not be worth noting that I smoked for 10 years too.

IT GOES IT GOES IT GOES

Careful bro, if you breathe in too much you might accidentally burst your lung. You have to warm up a bit by breathing in and out quickly for about 30-60s to loosen your diaphragm and then stand up and lock your knees out to push all the excess CO2 towards your lungs to exhale. Preferably near some train tracks or a bus stop.

Retarded question:
By beginning of next breath, you mean the exhale, right?
Can I add the time as long as I'm not inhaling at all?
Assuming it's just when I have to exhale, 2.5 minutes
>>36658432
>3:01.92 = 181.92s
I lift 5 or 6 days a week. I don't do cardio. My resting heart rate is 54bpm. I was always good at holding my breath even when I was a sedentary fat fuck.

i dont know, probably cant hold it as long as i can underwater. i can dive a distance of 50 meters tho. not doing any cardio, just strength training
>>36661026
Thailand is real strict on weed so if you ever want to go there to fuck bargirls I mean train at a Muay Thai camp you should taper off.
>>36661008
must have small lungs. i have horrible stamina, never do cardio, new to working out in general and i got a couple minutes.
>>36661251
No, got a lung capacity test in school and I got 5.9L which is relatively high
>>36661069

>>36658599
My sides
>is it possible to overfill my lungs
3.5 minutes or 1.5 without doing a warm up. When you start getting contractions you arw only 1/3 of your theoretical limit.
>asthma
>140 seconds
wew lads
for the record I do mostly lifting and a very small amount of cardio stuff but I was bigger on cardio earlier in my life. maybe it carried over
