For most people looking good and so-called "aestetics" is some kind of a distant dream, and they focus on short-term goals like benching 1.5x bodyweight or squat 2 plates or something. It becomes a lifestyle. Just like anything else.
The only difference is that when you lift things you see your progress everyday.
