Hello /fit/.
For a very very novice lifter who is weak as fuck, is there any reason landmine squats wouldn't be as good as back squats on a stronglifts program (for say the first 3-4 months).
Home gym, can't get squat rack, local gyms have 1 squat rack for every 5000 people (London).

Dude grow some fucking balls, the ONLY reaosn to NOT do normal, freeweight barbell squats is if you are one of these:
1. A fucking pussy
2. Doesnt want huge thick strong legs and ass (back and core aswell)
3. Severely injured so you physically cant squat without snapping your shit up
If you cant apply any of these to yourself then you're just wasting time and making excuses, if you make excuses you're not gonna fucking make it.
Sure, as long as you lift something

Fix your form.

You don't need a squat rack in order to squat.

So learn proper form

>You don't need a squat rack in order to squat.
so true, I'm squatting on the toilet right now, with a log half way out my butt hole.
>>36642375
Yeah, I've tried variations of squats, like front ones, obviously I can't clean that much weight though, and I often feel like I'm gonna fall and die or break my house.
Persevere?
>>36642348
don't do 1 plate if you can't do it properly

Steinborn squat.
>obviously I can't clean that much weight though
Improve your clean.

And also, don't do memelifts.
See https://fitsticky.com/novice-programs/ instead.
>I often feel like I'm gonna fall and die or break my house.
Are you squatting at least 120kg?
If not, worry less, squat more.
Get thick rubber matts if you need to start dropping the bar.
Consider hack squats

Thanks for the advice, appreciate someone I've seen posting for a while (as I lurked in the darkness) giving help.

IDK as for you, but they absolutely destroy my knees.

> recommending a steinborn squat.
OP join a commercial gym where you can do barbell back squats properly.
Do low bar squats too, they're so much better at building overall strength and size.

Yo brah, as someone who's slowly built up a homegym over the years I definitely recommend you start saving for a power cage. If it's a matter of space, I feel you, but a $300 investment literally saved my life.
>Benching 6ish months after a serious shoulder injury
>Trying to push out the last rep on the last set of 2pl8
>Shoulder gives out, bar collapses, crashes into the safety bars right above my neck
It lets me go a lot harder now knowing I'm not fucked if something goes wrong.
