Its bruising/scratching from where the weight has either dug into your shoulders or pushed the seam of your shirt into your shoulders.

It heals up pretty fast in 99% of cases. The only times I've seen it not are where its drawn blood from really heavy yokes or squat lockouts.

My hometown gym has a weirdo leg-press that you have to lie down to use and it pushes almost entirely against your shoulders/traps. First time I used that fucking thing, pic related happened.

Shitty capture, but that's my right shoulder. I don't even know where those triangles came from.
