Probably the not eating enough part, at the same time, I try to hit the gym 3 times a week with a upper body/legs/upper body split without any supplements and 5 times a week I do 1.5h of basketball. Is there ways I could optimize weight gain without dropping basketball?

Just lifting, walking, counting calories.

I would classify my diet as high protein, high fiber, low fat. I try to get 1g/lb of protein and +35g of fiber, because low calories stops me up like a motherfucker.

I cut fat simply because it is 9 cals a gram compared to 4 of the others, which lets you eat more volume.

Stop blaming basketball. Basketball has little to nothing to do with this. Eat more food and lift more weight. You aren't eating enough to get big and you probably aren't working out hard or often enough to get big either. I bike around 60 miles a week and do a sport that basically involves sprinting in sand for 10 hours every weekend and I'm still making progress.

Depends what you're going for, a lot of people here will tell you cardio is bad, but if you can still get stronger in your lifts while maintaining cardio, then fucking go for it.

Just make sure you're adding in enough calories if you're doing cardio as it tends to be a big problem for people who do both is that they lose a lot of weight, so make sure you're keeping track of calories. Good work though, keep it up

curremtly doing cardio to keep weight off while i wait for my shoulder to heal from a fuckup

You need to eat a lot, and I mean a lot of food, to get good progress. You're burning almost 3-4000 calories a week from ball and weightlifting alone. How you expect to make gains if you don't eat to supplement that? Also get protein powder.

First one is in october/nov after getting pneumonia. Have gone back and forth then between "bulking" and "cutting" but never really doing either one right.

Cutting now to get it the fuck out of the way and then probably bulking for at least a year.

5'7 137 lbs

A bit more than 1.5 years since my first step in a gym
I had a pretty serious car crash 3 years ago, got a broken hip and damaged sciatic nerve among other things (you can see the scars).
Never had any sport background and sedentary lifestyle.
I'm almost 30 and I feel a lot better, I wish I started 10 years ago.
Lifts are shit but I'm having a good time, I'm also ok with not having the fastest results, I enjoy the process.

190cm 88kg
I don't have the same lens I need to replicate the first pic, I'll have it back next week and update the progress pic the correct way
