Well /fit/, do you have an eating disorder? Can you quit any time?

to be fair, they make a fair point that if you eat tons of protein and don't lift, you're just setting yourself up to get fat
>>
I wish you wouldn't share these inflammatory articles.

I thought that was a meme

>if you eat tons of protein and don't lift, you're just setting yourself up to get fat
I'm sure I read somewhere saying the consumption of protein "promotes muscle growth" apparently in and of itself (although that may be specifically for muscular atrophy in malnutrition).

Imagine going to a website like this and honestly thinking it has useful information to offer you.
>>
>>36594987
Well consuming high amounts of protein over long periods (years) will promote muscle growth, which is why older people near midlife crisis have more developed forearms and arms than young adults because of years of using arms to do everyday things like lifting things/pushing things/ect. A normal diet will no doubt have good protein amounts in the body (thanks to easier access to meat at our current time).
>>
>>36594983
yeah calsincalsout, but if you're living a sedentary lifestyle and suddenly start eating 500 extra calories of protein in a day, you're going to get fat
>>
>>36595153
Is that actually true, though?
>>
>According to the Food and Nutrition Board, adults should consume 0.8 grams of protein for every kilogram (2.2 pounds) of body weight. That comes to an average of 56 grams for men and 46 for women.
So the average body weight is 70kg (154 lb) for men and 57.5 kg (126 lb) for men? In the US? Now?
>>
Whey is nothing but powder processed milk.

I have been training for 7 years with the last 2 without whey or supplements. My health is better and gains haven't stopped
>>
>>36595172
yeah

> fatass is currently eating at maintenance
> hurrdurr better eat more protein, he thinks
> starts eating maintenance + 500 calories worth of protein in a day
> cals in greater than cals out, weight gain
>>
>>36594589
>Guy who wrote the article "Offline passions are [...] vegan food" no wonder he tries to make up something like this.
>>
>>36595525
but would the weight added be muscle, or more likely to be muscle because the extra calories were protein (regardless of exercise)?
>>
>>36595525

hmm that's a fair point. I'm honestly not sure, it would probably be more fat. The training stimulus is what signals the body to make more muscle

Whey is just a byproduct of cheese production

And this has exactly what to do with it's nutritional profile?

>The average American currently consumes three to five times the needed amount of daily protein, and most of us, so far as I can tell by looking, aren't training to be competitive athletes or bodybuilders. While we take protein to be a vessel of robust health, we continue to lead sedentary lives.
>I don't lift so neither do you

Are there actually people who use protein powder but don't work out? This article is fucking retarded
>>

Women.

That's usually as a meal replacement though. Not as a supplement.

Lol yes dude. If you are eating over maintenance and being sedentary regardless of what macro you eat, you're gonna be a fatass

Kek. This whole article.
>"[C]onsistent protein overload will flood the kidneys, and cause digestive issues, nausea, harm to your brain and nervous system, and unusual weight gain. You’ll also be putting your body at risk of developing more serious long-term health problems, such as a buildup of amino acids, insulin, ammonia, and other toxic substances in your bloodstream."

>actually believing this holds true for people who actually lift
>tfw my weight gain is unusual to the author because it isn't in my flab belly
>>

That fucking video brah
>>
>Non-animal sources of protein include the Japanese vegetable dish edamame (which packs 16 grams of protein per cup)
Is dis nigga serious?
>>
>>36595464
Ya that isn't what it is at all.

Powdered milk would be....powdered milk.
>>
>>36597592
It's hard to believe that people that idiotic really exist. I raged through the entire video. I watch it every time I consider eating anything sweet on my cut
>>
>>36595381
Keked
>>
>>36595464
And that's great for you, but for a lot of people it's way easier to supplement whey protein into their dieting. Especially on a cut. When you get a powder that has 23-25g of protein per 110 calories it's kind of hard to beat senpai
>>
>>36594589
women's obsession with cum is an eating disorder too bitch
