What are some realistic weight loss goals I can set within 4 months. I'm 18, 230 pounds, 6'1. I plan on exercising at least 5 days a week.

2lbs a week is doable, but it will be a challenge. you need to track every single calorie and ensure you're running a 1000 calorie a day deficit. if you dont do this you will fail.
I've been losing about 2-3 pounds a week by eating a clean diet and doing intermittent fasting. I eat 1700 calories a day and 194g protein. No alcohol or sugar either. Down from 196 to 181. Need to lose about 5-10 more for the six pack.
OP here. the whole point of this is that I want to look visibly better in August. So would it be better to get lean, and convert it to muscle. Or would losing weight be better since it's only 4 months.

Aim for next summer. You can lose a good amount of weight in 4 months, but you can't "convert it to muscle" in that time.
It's already difficult enough to gain muscle while cutting weight (it's basically impossible, but beginners can soomewhat do it), so do not expect at all to have a nice body for this summer. You can lose weight and not be a completely fat mess though, but you won't have much muscle mass.
