Is squatting 315 lbs achievable in 6 months?
>>
Depends on a lot of factors. If you do all the right things and have a body type favorable for squaring then yes.
>>
>>36574495
My knees are fucked but its leg day. Squat anyway? ples respondo
>>
>>36574495
from skelly dyel noob who hasn't done anything but play WoW for his early years? absolutely not

a previous athlete? easily

it depends on the persons background
>>
>>36574495
It -could- happen, but you have a high chance of hitting 315lbs within a year.
>>
>>36574495
Should take 18 weeks according to SS. You add 5lb/workout and 3 workouts per week.
>>
6 months * 4 weeks/month * 3 workouts/week = 72 workouts

72 workouts * 5 lb increase/workout = 360 lb

assuming you started at 100 lb, you could concievably hit 460 in 6 months

Of course this isn't possible but this still leaves room for 460-315 = 145 lb worth of deloads throughout. You could do 4 36lb deloads and still make it to 315.
>>
started with 75 lbs and Im up to only 185 on five months for reps. Are you asking if it is possible for a 1rm?
>>
Squat everyday and do it in 6weeks

>>
squat twice a day and do it in 6 days
>>
>>36574574
You're not getting to 3 plate squats on SS without ever failing out.
>>
>>36574495
Where did you get that photo from? I worked in that gym for a little while
>>
>>36574495
Yes, I have done it myself, so have 2 other friends. We did SS for 6 months, our body composition didnt really change, but we made mad strength gains

Yeah, nah m8.
Theoretically you could, but your immune system would more than likely shit itself and you'd get pretty sick, especially as a new lifter.
>>
>>36574495
Well, I'm 6 months in and i can already squat 220 lbs but i'm a manlet.
>>
>>36574495
'Well it wasn't for me.

Started at 6ft 132lbs, now 18 months later I'm still 6ft but now I weigh 180lbs. Can only squat 2pl8 1RM.
>>
>>36578013
Yeah that's not bad, keep going anon; you can definitely do better than that.

They're bad for your knees anon!
>>
If you currently squat 310 then definitely
>>
>>36574495
Yes. Started at 190, on and off for 1 year got to 315. If I trained seriously for that year would have been much better
>>
Unless you are very skinny, 315 is definitely possible. After 4 months of SS, I was squatting 360 for sets of 5. I was 6"3 200lbs at the start of the program and ended up around 230lbs. My first day of Squats were 110lbs. I really do believe people don't follow the program correctly when they get stuck at 2plate Squats. Either that or they don't have an ounce of athleticism in their body.
>>
I think it's possible, with the right diet and programming specifically intended to push your squat up. If you're a previous athlete then you have a much better chance, particularly if you were an athlete who used legs heavily (ie ice hockey player, football player, rugby player, track and field, etc). Starting from skelly will make it difficult, but if you eat enough and train squats enough, I think you could hit 3 plate squat in six months.
When I began lifting I was coming off a background of ice hockey, and I hit a three plate squat in about a year without a program specifically designed for big squat gains.
>>
>>36574495
Easily. Say you squat 3x sets a session for 4x a week, like it recommends in SS. This leaves 2x a session per squat. Then assuming you go to the gym 2x a day. It is reasonable to assume you could increase the weight by 5 lbs each time. So 25 weeks = 6 months x 2 x 2 x 3 x 4 = 1200 lbs. Easily achievable if you eat right
>>
as someone who had almost literally been confined to their desk for 8 years without exercising it's taken me about 6-7 months of inconsistent lifting/diet/sleep to get to 2plates. it might be possible if you don't fuck around, and it'll be easy if you have any kind of sports background i imagine
>>
I started as a skelly
It took me 2 years to hit a 3pl8 1RM, mostly because I don't eat enough (never cycled creatine either)
Can currently squat 325x1 and deadlift 355x1 at 6'1, 180lbs
>>
I did it in a year, got injured (shoulder from hockey) went back down to 195, back up to 315 in 3 months, have been stuck there for over a year lol
>>
Why is this niggas knees so far over his toes
>>
>>36579527
Because he's wearing oly shoes and has average mobility.

If you can do a front squat with your knees over or behind your toes, you either have insane mobility or super short femurs.
>>
>>36574495
i have terrible mobility and in june last year i could only squat 95lbs barely above depth. i worked on it and got myself breaking parallel, and 9 months later i can do 265lbs. keep in mind i was a fattie who lost most of his weight by jogging, and my shit squat was due to mobility issues caused by a 12 hour a day desk job.
>>
Yeah, but you'll proably get fat in the process.
I got 3 plate in 9 months while still being pretty lean, hit 4pl8 (1x Raw, and 4x with belt) after 1,5 years.
>>
>>36574495
Started at skelly noob 118 lbs can now deadlift 405 and squat 315x2 6.5 months in.
>>
low bar ez
high bar is gonna be hard unless ur a midget
>>
>>36577884
You do if you drink the milk
>>
I squatted 405 within my first 5.5 months tBh. I suppose I have no way of proving this, but I did.

>>36574495
It depends on your frame. I didnt really exercise at all after the age of 13 or so but within 3 months of lifting I could squat 315 (age 24 or so). I was 6'2 180lbs, now 220 lbs at age 27

Related question, why do I keep stalling at around 1.0x bw when all my other lifts are going up? I reset to 135 to correct some form issues and went back up to 175 in 5 lb increments but I failed in the exact same place.
>>
>>36579978
Let me tell you why

Because you're a goddamn pussy, do more volume, go on smolov or something. Eat more, drink more milk, sleep more.

Why does my deadlift, bench, the press, and power clean keep increasing? Again, only my squat is staying static. These others would also be affected if my diet and sleep were compromised, right?
