I found mold in mine so now i do sometimes
I've been using the same water bottle for 2 years now without cleaning it. Sometimes it's been lying half-full for weeks without me touching it.
Might explain why I always feel like shit.
Which one? I wash them once a week. If one is being washed (or waiting in the dishwasher), I use the other one. Once it is washed, I use the other and place the old one in the dishwasher until it's wash day.

What are you on about? Replacing and cleaning your water bottle once a week is not rocket science. If you have more than two brain cells to rub together this is as easy as remembering to do laundry.

I'm too scared to clean them
I only ever put water in mine, and I run them through the dish washer after every use just like any other drinkware. Sometimes I clean them by hand using dish soap and a bottle brush for no particular reason.
BTW, I love bottle brushes. I have a bunch of them just for cleaning guns and gun accessories.
