Depends how much milk you're drinking, if you're under 1 gallon/day you're not gonna make it
>novice
>6 workouts in
>70 kg
- you're not doing 5x5
- you'll likely plateau very soon, hard
- your form is probably utter shit
no T-Rex mode for you for quite some time
>>36516461
Not OP, but is 70kg too much after 6 workouts? Sounds normal to me. I squat 110kg and I've been lifting for roughly six months. /fit/ tells me that's bad but whatever. My form is perfect though.
>>36516473
When did you achieve t-rex?
>>36516480
yes
>>36516434
If you follow 5x5 perfectly and eat correctly in 8 months to a year and a half you should be hitting plateaus and might be thinking of moving on to TM or something. A year and a half on that and you should be somewhat into advanced range and can start Sheiko.
>t-rex mode
Working out with memes in mind should not be your focus. If you are upset about upperbody development work in pullups, lat pulldowns, curls etc.
>>36516530
Nah man. I know that the legs grow fastest, so I want to focus on them for motivation.
>>36516473
In SL you start squatting with an empty bar and increase by 2.5 kg. After 6 workouts that's a total of 35kg.
There's literally no way his form is not complete and total shit. Probably doing weird af sumo stance 1% range of motion power lifting world record exercises.
>>36516577
what's a sumo stance?
>>36516577
Did a brosplit before, so know the lifts.

oh ok, I keep my feet a bit wider than my shoulders and with the tip pointing a bit outward, just for stability's sake, and cos I'm not flexible
I bet you have shit ROM OP
arse to grass mate you know the rules
>>36516577
Starting with the bar is for DYELS who have never lifted before.
I started SS with an 80kg Squat just fine.
>>36517503
Arse to grass is awful advice.
If you're doing a lowbar squat there's a good chance of fucking your mobility and form up if you force yourself down as low as possible.
Arse to as low-as-mobility-and-safety allows is better.
>>36517540
it's just an expression, obviously don't do anything that isn't safe
>>36517565
yeah well I think you're a fucking gaylord
>>36517540
Wrong.
Ass to grass IS the natural form, and if you can't get there comfortably it's because you're deficient.

Only arse to grass on high bar.
>>36516434
Soon comrade
>>36516434
I almost fucked up like OP but fixed it.
>Had gone to the gym before

>this caused me to plateue 3 weeks in at 57.5
>deloaded to 50 and worked on form, I did in fact not go all the way down
>back up to 55 tomorrow with perfect form
>next next time I'll do 57.5, the time after I'll break my pr and do 60 (already did it once but with a spotter, failed one series and did 4, so I dont count it
did the same for squats, I'm coming back to upping the weights after deloading
>>36518399
Not going to lie. Did that with bench. Have to deload from 62.5 kg to 55 kg now.
>>36517574
>gaylord
hhaahah
>>36516434
Honestly though, stick with the program, start from the bar. I started SL 2 years ago and didn't. I plateaued really early and never got super high. I'm 2 years in of fairly routine lifting with a month off every 4 or 5 months and my lifts are all still small. I look surprisingly good, but my best squat is 225lbs
>>36520533
Ain't nobody got time for that. Not even you.
>>36520605
Yeah, I know. I should deload a lot or something, but honestly at this point it's stopped bothering me too much. I still look good (if on the thin side) and I'm stronger than any friends that go to the gym. I do cardio and try not to spend more than 5 hours a week exercising. Eh. I graduate college in the spring, maybe I'll use that as an excuse to get serious or make up my mind on where I want to go with it.

Deload, do high volume, then try again for your 5x5/3x5 PR with bigger muscles.

>>36516434
Depends how much you lift relative to your weight.
2x body weight is a good start.
>>36520533
I just hit 315 at 156lbs after 18 months. Try harder.
Tfw I squat 170kg but I am still faar from t rex mode.
I am just a fucking skelleton
