Does it matter what order you do your exercises in?
I sometimes stand and wait for the squat rack to free up when I could be benching, but I'm starting to think it doesn't matter.

Some exercises require more exertion and thus more energy i.e glycogen stores
Basically yes it does matter, always start with the hardest exercises first

Move from the bigger and heavier exercise to the smaller and lighter ones.

just rest for a while after you squat I generally take a 20 - 30 minute rest since I'm always tired from squatting and resting any less usually fucks my form up because I didn't get enough rest
