hi /fit/
can you get a good and time efficent upper body workout using only dumbells and cables?
i was thinking of doing opposing muscles supersets, smnth like
seated db shoulders press / pulldown
incline db press / seated row
cable pushdown / cable curl

3 sets per exercise and go to failure, 2min rest between supersets and then just fuck around with some preacher curls, shoulder raises, face pulls at the end of the workout, sometimes change cable curl for dumbell curl, incline chest press for normal one or decline etc for variation

do this 3/4 times a week, takes about an hour and you hits all the upper body, what do you think?

yes you can get a great workout using cables and dumbells but please do legs on an "off day"

atm i do full body barbell routine, which looks like this
squats
bench press / ohp (alternating)
deadlift / pendlay row (alternating)

i was thinking of keeping the squats but ditching the rest and changing it for what i outlined in my post

you can definitely get a workout doing that, but I don't know why you'd drop good compound lifts that you're already doing.
unless you're just going for hypertrophy. then sure. I've honestly got my best hyper off of dumbbells

i dont really care for bench press/rowing/deadlifting strength, just want to have big upper body
squats i want to keep doing just cause they feel amazing on my body (theyre keeping me mobile since im going atg etc)

then yeah, sure, cables and dumbbells ho.
make sure to kiss your muscles in between sets. love makes them grow faster.
