I've actually read about that. Seems to be a surefire way to lose weight quickly.

Problem is, my body has been holding onto weight a lot lately, no matter how much I exercise. I even eat as healthy as humanly possible but I feel like I gain weight every week.

You're lying to yourself.

Your body has needs a certain amount of calories to maintain itself. Anything you eat above that number will result in gained weight and anything you eat below that number will result in weight loss.

This literally applies to every human, nobody is excluded from this either.

When you have that number, deduct 500kcals from that (as the mentioned website will do for you) and stick to that number of calories every day.

It's important for this to work that you start counting calories, accurately. No guessing, actual numbers. Use myfitnesspal app to keep track of your daily caloric intake.

Take that number and substract 500 from it to know your ACTUAL daily caloric requirements, and THEN deduct 500 from it.

Nah, BMR formulas are very well established. It's mainly the exercise levels that are determined by extremely vague questions and answers.

I just use a formula for BMR that I memorized at some point, which is 10*mass[kg] + 6.25*height[cm] - 5*age[years]. If I eat less or equal to BMR, then I certainly lose weight. Everything else is just bullshit.
