Depends solely on the ratio of your femur to your torso. Everyone of us has different lever arms and thus will use different muscles in different lifts.

IE: long legs/short torso means more back involved in the DL. Short legs/long torso means more leg involvement.

It doesn't change the fact the primary movers for the the deadlift are hamstrings and glutes, the secondary movers are your quads, and the spinal erectors act as a stabilizer.

What kind of gyms do you guys go to? I'm not the strongest in my gym, but I'm up there and I'm not much stronger than OP. Ive never seen anyone dead lift or squat more than 350lbs. There are two guys I see that bench more than 300 but they both have shit form so it doesn't count.

Actually it does, but its not extreme, obviously all those muscles are used. My legs are long so I keep my hips high on my dl. This means I use less of my quads and hams and more of my glutes and back. Someone with shorts legs would start the lift with their butts much lower and would recruit much more of their hams and quads than I do and they would use less of their back.

OP here. I guess a lot of anons on /fit/ are going to powerlifting kind of gyms since they are redpilled on free weights and barbells while most of commercial gyms are only offering machines and other bad equipment...

I'm going to a commercial gym that happens to have 2 squatracks and one lifting platform. But there is probably 3 guys in total using these with proper exercises...

The first gym I went to was a commercial gym, set up by some suddenly-rich housewife, who hired the best help she could think of.

So the PTs were a kick boxing dietician, a shot putter, strongman and certified athletics coach and also a guy who just looked like a male underwear model with big legs, who also had some kind of certs and academic background.

The shot putter/strongman benched 450 and repped out 500 on deadlifts.

The second, and current gym was an old bodybuilder-turned-powerlifter's life dream, so it's basicly 3 power cages, 4 benches plus incline and decline and enough machines to get everything done.
His friend is a bench press only guy who benches in raw meets more than double bodyweight. And he's 307.
Also, everybody who's on gear is open about it and friendly as fuck.

I have a 3 time world champion as my mentor. Not sure if I'll ever be as strong as him. It's kind of funny. Other people beg him for advice, and he just talks to me openly man to man and gives me general life advice. I'll take that advice. He also owns a multi-million dollar finance company. i know this is controversial but i've been to 2 gyms and both never had any really big guys, either average builds benching 225 or skinny asian manlets trying to bench the bar

My 385lb for 5 reps deadlift is the heaviest dead I've seen at my gym, but one of the employees told me they've seen more.

And I've seen people squat more than 345lbs too.

But I'm among the stronger people.

Though my 205lb bench is crap by comparison and I see people do more all the time.
