How fit did you look before you started wearing tanks to the gym?
>>
>>36040336
Only frat boys and idiots wear "tanks" to the gym, don't be either
>>
How fit did you look before you started wearing jeans to the gym?
>>
>>36040355
honestly if you are hating on someone wearing a tank to the gym youre either a social autist or a fedora

Shouldn't wear tanktops until 17 inch arms at 5'10

another half inch on arms per 1 inch of height.
>>
>>36040355
Literally the best gym attire because your arms and pits can get some air. You're just autistic.
>>
>>36040366
I don't hate people that do it - just stating how the world will perceive you as I would to a friend thinking of wearing it.

>>36040378
Not to me - did it few times in college and my sweat just ran down more/got everywhere. I feel like you're missing on the big benefit of wearing a shirt while working out which is quick sweat absorption
>>
>>36040369
Lmao 17 inches of lard
>>
>>36040464

stay mad skelly
>>
>>36040445
>just stating how the world will perceive you as I would to a friend thinking of wearing it.

Not gonna make it friendo.
>>
If you look good in a tanktop wear one, if you look like shit in one then don't wear one.

Don't wear a tanktop if you are
-Fat
-Skeleton
-Skinnyfat
-Revealing your nipples
-Tiny shoulders

Wear a tanktop if
-You have been lifting for over a year
-Want to be more comfortable working out
-Want bitches checking you out
>>
Why would you give a shit about what someone wears to the gym? Personally I don't wear one, but if someone wears it and feels comfortable in it, good on them, I couldn't give less of a fuck.
>>
>>36040369

I'm bigger and have broader shoulders than your pic related, but wore tanks before then. Who gives AF? Own it.

Autists saying that:
>17" fatceps
>1/2/3/4 plate lifts
>(enter arbitrary condition here)

Are just insecure as fuck. As long as you're not a total skelly or fatass, just own it. And those who are saying tanks are "tryhard", how fucking insecure are you? Lol, grow the fuck up.
>>
>>36040336
The only guys who wear tanks at my gym are a few dyel skellies anxious to show off their 1" bicep gains. Everyone else is laughing at them.
>>
>>36042749
This. The longer you lift and bigger you get the gayer tanks get imo

>>
Day one. Nothing motivates you quite like a form fitting tank around your fat gut.
>>
>>36040336
I wore tanks when I was skinny as fuck because I'm not insecure, just wear whatever you want man.
>>
>>36040336
Who gives a fuck. Where what you want.
>>
I've been training for 10 years at a pretty big gym, and the only people wearing tanktops are either very muscular or complete dyel faggots with gloves

Personally I don't give a shit, unless it's one of those very revealing tanktop that you can see the dude's nipples from the side. Damnit cover up nigga, nobody wants to see your shit
>>
I just wear some hanes tank when I go to the gym because I don't really have anything else appropriate to work out in. I thought everyone is too busy with themselves to give a shit about a dyel skelly walking around in a tank
>>
>>36044057
You thought wrong faggot
>>
>>36040683
What if you hairy as fuck? I'm talking hair all over shoulders and back and arms.
>>
>>36040355
As someone who is very much against bro culture and frats in general, I still think wearing tank tops to the gym is completely acceptable, in fact, the gym is one of the only places where wearing a tanktop is totally fine.

I'd rather see a bunch of dudes in tanks than those assholes with the "I flexed and the sleeves came off" or "beast mode activated" shirts.
>>
>>36044094
I think as a general rule of thumb, if you are like noticably big, then it's still ok. I know some massive dudes who have a good amount of body hair, but when you're that big, the hair almost compliments the image.
>>
once l felt comfortable in the gym
First couple months l wore actual like workout clothes, you know the brightly colored tech shirts and stuff?
Now l wear old t-shirts and basketball shorts, tanks when benching and/or during summer
>>
>wearing a tank to the gym

Way to gymtimidate, shitlord. someone go hit the Lunk alarm
>>
>>36040369
So if you're 5'7" you can wear tanks with 14" arms? Nah brah

REAL CRITERIA:
For every inch of height, your arms should be 0.25" around.
>>
>>36040369
Fatceps alert
>>
I'm a total dyel and I wear tanks around the gym and at home too from time to time. They're loose and comfy and I couldn't give less of a shit about some insecure midgets' opinion. I bet you're the kind of guys that exercise in sweatpants and hoodies to hide your "power levels". Get fucked

There is literally never a reason to wear a tank to the gym. It's one tier above wearing a stringer, and one tier below topless.
>>
>>36044094
>What if you hairy as fuck? I'm talking hair all over shoulders and back and arms.

All the women I've slept with dig the hair, they think its manly, plus outside of the pubes and beard, I give no shits about shaving.

Maybe it's different because I live in Florida, but nobody gives a fuck if you wear tanks in public even if you're the definition of dyel.

People care even less (so negative fucks?) in the gym

Can I wear a tanktop yet?
>tfw SS has given me a shitty upperbody
>>
>>36046644
hell no
pls do more curls and skull crushers to build dem pythons
>>
>>36046644
>blaming ss for upperbody

looks normal development to me, you do know your quads are the easiest to develop so they grow largest first right? or do you just see what other people say about something and parrot it like a mongloid?
>>
>>36046683

Well, its a bit of both I guess.

But my squat strength is disproportionate to my bench. I bench 60kg and squat 115 - that cant be normal, can it?
>>
Only see twink tier guys with 13 inch biceps wear them worse part is guys aren't even men (can't bench 2pl8 for reps) just embarrassing desu

>>
>>36040336
Who the fuck wears anything but a tanktop to the gym
>working out in a t-shirt or worse yet long sleeve
What the fuck is wrong with you people? It's not about showing off your DYEL arms, it's about being well ventilated while you sweat your ass off, you autistic fuckwits
>>
>>36046697

like i said as a beginner your legs will grow first, bench is the most difficult of the big three so it takes some time to get the weight on the bar. At 115 kg squat and 60 kg bench you are no where near the point of worrying about 'underdeveloped' body parts when your whole body is underdeveloped still. If it gets to a point where you are consistently stalling on bench but progressing other lifts than the routine isnt for you plain and simple, and that goes for any routine not just ss
>>
>>36046723
Should wear some gains desu
>>
>>36046700
i'm sorry but if you go to the gym to show off your muscles you're fundamentally doing it wrong
>>
>>36046765
meh better than when i started.
>>
>>36046779
That's not what I am implying. What I am implying is that the reason it is unacceptable to wear tank tops in public is because doing so subliminally says "look at me, I have muscles" and is generally not very modest. In public non-gym settings, muscles aren't really "relevant" and so wearing a tank top would be purely for attention and nothing else.

But at the gym, everyone is there for the same reason, everyone knows that people there are going to be big, and that tanktops are arguably better/more comfortable to lift in. It's like how wearing a swimsuit to the swimming pool is acceptable, but wearing one just walking around isn't.

tanks are for dyel nerds

real lifters either wear a track suit or shirtless + short short combo
>>
what if it is hot as fuck in the summer ? still not acceptable ?
>>
>>36040445
so far from ever making it
> judging people based on outfit
> not wearing whatever allows you to reach your maximum power level
> "the world will perceive you"
senpai please reevaluate your ways before it is too late
>>
>>36040336
I look like shit and wear a tank in the gym.
Mobility and comfyness man, I like to mirror mire my meager muscles, being skinny I'm also pretty vascular, so a pump makes me look nearly passable.
>>
>>36040683
This is truth.
/thread
>>
I have stretchmarks on my biceps, so I'll never wear them.
>>
>>36044200
If I'm 6'1 that would mean I'm supposed to have 18.25 inch arms before I can wear a tank. Which according to a few online calculators based on my wrist measurements is .25 inches more than my lifetime natty limit.

How about /fit stop making arbitrary criteria of when and how and why people can do things in the gym within reason.

been thinking about picking up some tanks myself. Tbh im at least another 6 months out from being able to wear tanks. I want to wait til I cant fit by biceps into my shirt holes to break out the tank.
>tfw my biceps only look huge when I flex
>>
>>36046644

Looks like a completely fine upperbody. You've been lifting for what, 3-4 months?
>>
>>36051760
lol wut go wear a tank already dude youve got awesome arms.
>>
>>36040336
I lifted on and off for 4 years before I started wearing tanks to the gym... Not even joking, being 100% serious
>>
>>36040336
Its the opposite. If you are DYEL you have to wear a tank to look like you lift. Once you actually gain some mass you can wear a t-shirt & look like you lift without having to get cold so you can show off.
>>
>>36051804
yeah but I want my arms to be huge even when im not flexing. My arms have gotten quite a bit bigger in the past few months but I am still a little ways off from my goal arms. I want there to be more definition. Thanks for the vote of confidence but I dont think I couldn pull it off just yet.
>>
>>36042406
idk some fat sweaty guys wear tanks and they sweat all over the benches.
>>
not only do I wear a tank, but its a black wifebeater with a rosary necklace over it just to piss of newbies
