I'm a big guy. It's just quite a decent % of body fat. Working it off after being disgusted with myself for almost 2 years.

It's not going down though, but I am noticing less fat. Clothes I used to fit rather snug into are now loose as fuck during gym sessions, my clothes that made my gut stick out now make me look like a reasonable human being, and I need new work pants because of my waist getting smaller. Bummed that the scale isn't going down though, but I guess that's what happens when you lift as a fatass.

I get that, the mirror tells the truth better than the scales, but I'm dying to be able to say that i'm 90kg, I've been 50-70kg skelly mode my whole life, I had visible abs and calf muscles, and now I feel like a bunch of playdough that's been left in the sun for too long.

As long as I just keep going to the gym and not eating shitty foods 24/7 like I used to, I'll make it though.

I'm 6'2 and I literally have no problem with doing DL. Pick a spot to look at on the wall, and keep your eyes locked on it when you go down to grab the bar, this should help your lower back pain.

Again, dumb as fuck. Tall people have proportionally longer limbs, which means shorter torso. Short torso and long limbs contribute to a better deadlift.

Proportions are pretty individual but that's what the trends are. I'm 6'3"± with a 6'8" wingspan, for example

I consider trap bar a better replacement for squat than deadlift. I've suffered more pain and agony from squat fails than deadlift fails. It's harder to bail on a squat, it's harder to make sure you're keeping correct form as you're trying to make sure you're going below parallel while keeping your back neutral with hundreds of pounds on your back. And for what purpose? A trap bar squat will shred your quads just as well while adding some benefits of a deadlift. Could you tell me exactly why you should barbell back squat instead of trap bar squat outside of competitive lifting reasons? I can't. It's easier to maintain bar path. Easier to bail. Easier to keep correct form.
