You take the bar from the rack, step back a couple of steps, press it overhead a for a set, then re rack it. This whole "OHP in the squat rack" meme got started because retards were doing curls inside the squat rack. OHP is a barbell exersise and you can and should do it inside a barbell/squat/power rack.

There's nothing wrong with pressing in the power rack. It's the safest way to do it.

The hooks make it easy to unrack the bar and you can set the pins to catch the bar if you fail.

Honestly, even curling in a power rack isn't that bad, imo.

I'm talking about setting the pins at chest height, not squatting height.

If you fail a press with pins you can just guide the bar down to the pins. if you fail a press without pins you either have to catch in a front rack or let the bar drop all the way to the floor which could damage the plates.

Lowering a failed press to a front rack isn't difficult but just in case you really fuck up or injure something it's nice to have the pins as a safety net.
