Zerchers are dope. Can't do as much weight but it makes a whole lot easier to achieve depth and its a great full body exercise. Its not absolutely necessary but they are a fun exercise.

Knee travel is very much present in low bar squatting as well for most people. Just look at great powerlifters like Jonnie Candito, Brett Gibbs, Josh Hancott, Jesse Norris, Garrett Blevins etc. To find someone with no knee travel is extremely rare.

There's nothing especially natural about squatting a barbell and a high bar squat doesn't precisely resemble how people rest in the squatting position.

I'm 2 weeks into SS and I've been doing high bar squats. I recently read SS (the book) and now I'm considering switching to lowbar. My highbar is currently higher than my lowbar by a marginal amount. My lowbar is 200lb and my highbar is 215.

is there a point to switching over to lowbar while I'm only 15lbs behind my highbar? Will the weight I can lift increase at the same rate for each one? Would the lowbar increase faster because the deadlift and lowbar complement eachother? (do they?)

Start light and progress naturally. Technically the upper part of the spine should be neutral with the weight - you can zercher less than you can deadlift, if you feel the pressure your t-spine is weak and needs catch up.

for MUHFUNCTIONALSTRENGTH people, like roadies and porters and such: anterior loading as would befit a real-world carry, as in helping move someone

for first responders or anyone who wants conditioning: trains you to work with your diaphragm compressed - really strengthens the abs and ribcage.
