I've been lifting for a while now and everyone I know that has relevant numbers on any lifts don't act like that. Usually the bigger the guy is the less he cares about what other people do, most of them are super friendly to new people and find amusing how they struggle doing simple stuff.

Once we had this giant bodybuilder guy spotting this 15 yr old scrawny kid while he was benching 10kg plates for the first time in his life. He literally gave the kid a tour through all the gym helping him out with his workout.
