When you guys say.
I can bench 2pl8s ( 100kg) or I can deadlift 160kg , squat 140kg etc. Are you talking about your 1max?
>>35693245
I think they are saying at least that many lmaoplates or higher, but less than the next number of lmaoplates
I assume 1RM unless otherwise stated
>>35693335
This.
Also I assume they added 10-20kg to their actual real max because e-stats.
>>35693245
I have question: How does someone calculate their 1RM? I know what weights I can lift for 3x5, but not 1x1. Do you just keep adding weight until you fail?
>>35693335
then most of you are literally DYELS.
Most people bragging about benching 2 pl8s cant even do 1 proper rep without struggling.
>>35693335
Do people actually test their 1RM from time to time?
Unless it's in your training program it seems kind of silly.
>>35693361
fucking idiot lift maximum weight possible x1 . That´s your max rep.
>>35693379
>not having an EGO day
>>35693379
How do I know you're weak?
>>35693245
When I mean I bench 100 kgs, I mean I bench it 5 times for five sets. One rep max is gay
>>35693437
>only benches 100kg
>has the nerve to call people/stuff gay
>>35693437
Nobody gives a fuck about your SL bullshit.
>>35693396
I'm a skinnyfat manlet. The only thing I could brag about is the amount of feels I lift everyday.
>>35693379
I do it when I feel strong.
>>35693245
>I can bench 2pl8s ( 100kg)
>2pl8s
Wait, wouldn't that be 200kg? Two plates on each side?
When you tell people how much you lift do you also count the bar (extra 20kg)?
>>35693458
Isn't 5x5 the optimal volume for the big lifts if you're going for strength?
>>35693361
Usually your 5rm is 80-85% of what you can do for a 1rm. Take your 5rm and * by 1.15
>>35693885
no, it's a rookie routine just like SS. Effective for beginner gains but after 6 months, you should switch to an intermediate routine that incorporates lower rep sets.
>>35693845
>Wait, wouldn't that be 200kg? Two plates on each side?
Bar is 20kg
Each plate is 20kg
4x20+20=100kg
>>35693245
I used to think that people must have been saying their 1rm when they talk about completing the /fit/ standards.
Now I assume that it is working weight because having a 1rm of 135 OHP, 225 bench, 315 Squat, 405 deadlift isnt that great...
>>35693940
no no I'm not talking about the 5x5 SL routine but the volume 5 sets of 5 reps no matter the routine
>>35693783
Why don't u lift more then
Been a long time since I actually tested a one rep max. I'll 'max out' every few weeks but generally speaking when I hit a PR I still have a bit left in the tank.
Usually 'I can lift x' applies to 3 reps of consistent form
>>35693965
Plates are 20?
The ones i use are 45 i think.
>>35694290
20kg = 45lbs
Are you sure you're not confusing units here?
>>35694307
>lbs
We don't use that shit around here. But somebody told me they are the equivalent of 100 lbs. Something between 45 and 50 kilos a plate.
>>35693245
Most people here are e-statting when they say that lol. They usually imply one Rep max. I typically specify that a weight is working weight for so many reps/sets when discussing my lifts.
>>35693361
for approx 1rm:
(weight x reps x 0,0333) + weight
>>35694334
Seriously, this shit is confusing, is it in the sticky?
