Threadly reminder that nofap is a technique used for making quitting or reducing porn use easier. It has always been understood to be such by the community that coined the term nofap, and in its most common usage is understood to be a strictly temporary measure lasting most often between 45 and 180 days, after which resuming fapping again (but with imagination instead of porn) is seen as normal.
The idea is simply that avoiding getting sexually worked up by yourself in a room with an internet connection reduces temptation by a huge margin. Edging, for obvious reasons, defeats this purpose entirely (you might as well just fap at that point and avoid the blueballs), and edging to porn simply isn't nofap at all.
