Bugs dont really have any real taste. I ate fried grasshoppers in Thailand, and they are just really crispy and explode with oil.

Last year my parents had unusually many grasshoppers in their garden. I catched a bunch and cooked and fried them. They were actually pretty tasty, even though my parents were absolutely disgusted by it.

I put them in a pot, filled it with water and cooked them until they were dead (inb4 animal cruelty), then I washed them and cut off their legs and wings (apparently you can't eat those). Then I fried them in a pan and ate them with a bit of salt and paprika powder (kind of like chips, really).
It wasn't perfect and I didn't experiment a lot with it, as it was a pain in the ass to catch the nine grasshoppers I ultimately cooked.
