Welcome to science, your body will cannibalize muscle tissue as an energy source as glycogen stores are exhausted.

The more you know.

That doesn't mean you shouldn't do cardio.
>>
>>35491170
Will it only cannibalize muscles in the legs? Because then im okay with it

>If you're having trouble bulking, try eating sox meals a day!
Fucking retarded. If you have no appetite, why would you have a smaller spacing between your meals? You literally end up eating while you're still full from you last meal. Terrible advice.

you can just drink gatorade while you work out to avoid this
>High GI simple sugar raises insulin levels
>Raised insulin levels decrease cortisol levels
>More readily available carbs in blood stream for energy
>substantially reduced muscle breakdown

Yeah. And the worst part is that was here, in a thread a few months ago about muscular groups.
>>
>>35491170
glycogen? What? Regular running doesn't deplete glycogen stores in any sort of fashion. It primarily uses oxygen and ATP delivery to produce energy. The muscle depletion comes from bodily adjustments in body chemistry to improve energy efficiency.

Sprinting depletes glycogen, but encourages its storage, increasing muscle mass in the process. Sprinters hold a lot of oxygen in their muscles, whereas marathon runners have superb efficiency in oxygen delivery.

LoL at your retard logic

does milk have any protein in it? or fat in it?
compared to water?

with the same amount of scoops, someone who drinks the milk will end up with more bodyfat than someone who drinks it with water

i may seem like a small difference maybe 1% but over years of lifting it will add up, but you probably dont even lift so you cant relate

the same reason jeff seid only drinks his protein shakes with water

> >_<

To anyone who is new, let this be a warning:

Do not take fitness advice from /fit/ blindly. These are the people who consider themselves knowledgeable, it's the blind leading the blind

I'm taking the bait.
Fat cant turn into fat fuckface. Sugars will turn into fat.

I read recently that this process is the quickest way for your body to obtain glucose which is essential for brain function, but it will do this in conjunction with breaking down fat stores for the less essential processess in your body.
I was interested in this after googling why my sweat was smelling like ammonia after a particularly hard bike training session.

For those follwing the story urea is a byproduct during muscle/amino acid breakdown and what your liver cant handle gets sweated out

okay seriously you two, can you just make out already and get it over with?

with scoops being constant between both cases we can neglect them and deal with just the fluids:

water has fewer calories, so if someone is trying to lose weight, it is a good choice.

milk has more nutrients, so for someone looking to build muscle, it is a good choice.

Both have value, and I'm not saying that if you're cutting you MUST use water of vice versa. You can use either fluid for either scenario, it will just depend on the rest of your diet and your training

neither of you are wrong

And yes, I know this is bait but fuck it

Protein being used as a source of energy happens pretty much all the time, it's not a big deal as long as you eat well.

However, breaking muscle mass down to use as energy doesn't. It takes a long while for this to happen, unless you literally starve yourself (and even then it's not a quick process). The whole catabolism fearmongering among the fitness industry is being pushed by supplement companies for a long time.
