>I'll start tomorrow
I have said this like 10 times.
How did you start?
Motivation thread?
>>
>>35482224
Get proper sleep, that's usually the only motivation I need.
>>
Become a robot. The part of you that hates you for acting like a robot is called the ego. It will weaken over time, and everything in your life will improve. Tell yourself that for the next month, you will blindly and thoughtlessly do the right thing. Become a robot.

Is that how you started?

When i relied on motivation i often failed to be motivated.

When i relied on discipline and routine i never had a choice.
>>
>>35482224
After you start somethinf that you're planning on doing for a long time, try to make it as much of a habit as possible, just like brushing your teeth in the morning.
>>
>>35482224

Make a routine/schedule. Put it on your wall. This will serve as an external reminder when your internal motivation is weak.

Tell people about your plans. Also tell them to give you shit when you're slacking off. Social pressure can be a powerful tool to provoke action.

Of course, these things are not 100% foolproof, but they can make the process easier. Ultimately the burden is on you.

Iron discipline. Was I born with it? Of course not. I built it from iron pebbles and the more I built the stronger it got. Discipline makes you better than anyone else who doesnt adhere to it, which makes 99% of the human race. Youre better than 99% of humanity, you will be stronger than any of your ancestors spanning millions of years back.
>>
>>35482245
is this for my 9 to 5.

One day i suddenly realized that i have been training to be a robot my entire life. Sometimes i get lapses and fall back into humanity for a bit but i really try to pull myself back into the unfeeling.

It works if you set yourself up for it. Just need discipline

Motivation is nice to have but over the years I realized that what really makes a difference is having discipline.
>>
>>35482224
I just sorta went one day. Didn't even think about it, just went. Liked it a lot, now here I am 6 years later.
>>
>>35482224
I just love lifting, dont need any extra motivation. I could use some for fixing my life though, because it's an absolute mess atm.

For me it was starting slowly, but I get that not everybody is made for that. I just slowly trained myself to set a goal and stick to it. At the beginning it was about eating, I often fasted, or ate just one meal per day etc. Then I picked up stuff like running 5km every day, or doing 100 push ups every day etc. At some point this evolved into a real routine, I modified this routine over the months and that's what I'm doing now. After a while you are familiar with your internal excuses and you know how to get over each of them.

Some days, you don't feel great, and you know that your workout is gonna be shit, but you know you have to do it anyway, and you do. I guess it's some kind of self hatred, but sometimes when the workout doesn't go that well, I punish myself with some extra sets or another kilometre. To me, that was the kind of attitude I needed to develop to get into it.
>>
Aint nothin to it but to do it
>>
Chums going to the gym is actually pretty fun, just go niggah
>>
>>35482224
Instead of saying "I'll start tomorrow." say "I'll start today." then do it.

>modified a bodyweight routine
Read the fucking sticky.
Get yourself on a proper routine with linear programming. Also don't restrict yourself to a meal a day. That's just retarded. Calculate your TDEE, eat that amount of calories per day, boom roasted.
>increase calories or decrease if you don't see weight change. Aim for a gain of a half lb a week as that's how much lbm your body can put on in a given timeframe as a natty under ideal conditions.
