>>
In my experience, your first workout back will be a little rough, but I doubt you'll lose any size

no dipshit. it'll take two weeks on a normal diet for deterioration to set in. one week if you stop eating right and your hot bod starts cannibalizing your musculados.

What most people dont realize is, when you come back on tuesday and hit the gym you're gonna feel off. That's just you waking up your shit again. Big difference between falling off the wagon and goin in again, and being gone for a weekend and hitting it on tuesday.

>if you stop eating right and your hot bod starts cannibalizing your musculados.

state your source then watch as we throw much kek your way

fucking idiot
>>
>>35458234
>>35458278
This shouldn't happen as long as you're getting enough calories for the maintenance of the muscle,f I thought
>>
>>35458299
If you don't use it you lose it

Shit starts to go right away, you can lose years of workouts in a month of bad eating/no exercise
>>
>>35458527
I stopped working out for 5 months after 8 months, and I lost close to nothing
>>
>>35458598

That is because you had nothing, dipshit.

I hadnt worked out for 4 months recently as i started travelling Europe. Have been doing manueal labour though, even if thats just spending 30 mins shovelling stuff. Seem to have lost no muscle and lost a good few bf%.
DW OP youll be fine
>>
>>35458527
Word. I once had a sick pump, looked like Zyzz, but when I stepped out of the gym literally everything was gone.

I normally deadlift 450 lbs for reps, but 1-2 days of no lifting I can barely even lift up toilet paper to wipe my ass.
>>
>>35458527
This is true. I lifted for about 7 months and put on about 25lbs then I had to stop lifting. Within a month I lost 18lbs and lost all gains.
>>
>>35462734
>I lost 18lbs and lost all gains.
you stopped eating dipshit

for the most part you keep the CNS conditioning and your muscles tend to rebuild quickly coming back, but you don't see significant atrophy for at least a few weeks. What you see after a few days of not lifting is mostly just water and glycogen not stuffing your muscles up anymore
>>
>>35458649
the hodgetwins stopped lifting for 8 years, and retained most of their gains.

they talk about it whenever faggots like you think your gains disappear if you miss one goddamn workout
>>
>>35463114
>you stopped eating dipshit
this.

you cannot lose weight without eating at a caloric deficit.

probably was saying "well i am not lifting so i don't have to eat as much"

spoiler alert: lifting doesn't really burn jack shit for calories (and of the calories it does burn, most of them are burnt in recuperating the body, not during the actual exercise)

I'm recovering from a wisdom teeth extraction and I literally lost 7 lbs in 1.5 weeks. I went back to the gym for the first time in a while and all my lifts suffered to high hell. What the fuck is going on?
>>
>>35463539
if you were bed ridden you likely lost ~2 lbs of dry mass and 5 of water weight

you'll be fine when you eat again
>>
>>35463230
no they didnt retard, look at their 3 or 4 year transformation video
>>
>>35458196
your body burns fat before muscle. unless you're lean as fuck you're not gonna lose anything
>>
>>35463539
water weight and fat. your lifts were shit because your muscles didn't have energy stored due to your shit diet. as poster above said, once you start eating normally you'll go back to normal
>>
>>35463539
stop spamming this in every thread
>>
>>35463114
>>35463253
>stopped eating

Yes of course. While I was lifting I was eating about 3000 ~ 3200 calories a day. When I stopped lifting that dropped down to about 1300. For me, if I am not lifting there is no point in me eating when I am not hungry.
>>
>>35463695
you're a retard
>>
>>35463702
How? If I am not lifting why do I still need to eat as much as when I am lifting?
>>
>>35463726
You didn't lose your gains because you didn't lift, you lost them because you didn't eat
>>
>>35463679
Never fucking reply to me again unless you're contributing to the thread

>ate like a holocaust victim
that is why you lost weight, not because you stopped lifting

>>35463726
calculate your TDEE
and eat at least that many calories

if your maintenance was 3200 when lifting, you probably need at least 3000 to maintain

The time it took you to gain that muscle is the time it takes for you to lose it under the most unfavorable conditions. Don't listen to this fucktard >>35458527
>>
>>35463747
Well when I weighed 134 I was eating about 1500 calories a day and maintained that weight. However when I started lifting and got to around 150lbs I needed to eat around 3200 +- calories to even gain weight.
>>
Stopped going gym for 1 month. Lost barely any strength or muscle. Just make sure you eat enough calories to maintain your bodyweight and take in a decent amount of protein per day.
>>
I took a month and a half off from lifting and came back stronger than when I stopped.
I had a really bad drug/drinking problem tho.
T-thanks based rehab.
You'll be alright bro. Don't worry about it too much.
>>
>>35458527
WHAT A LOAD OF BULLSHIT
i worked out for 4 years, stopped exercising for a month and when i started again the only differences were:
1)i lost some vascularity
2)i lost some negligible size (like 1-2% of gains)
3)my dead hang pullups dropped from 14 to 12 and my pushups from 50 to 40

natties wont lose their gains if they dont workout for a few weeks.
a roider will obviously degrade faster.
>>
>>35463806
sounds like you are absolutely shit at counting calories desu

150lb shouldn't take much more than 2500 to gain weight. pretty much regardless of height.

either way.
a TDEE calculator, and a food scale could have prevented this.

you have nobody to blame but yourself for being a dumbass
>>
>>35463851
>>35463834

This. I can relate to this. During summer breaks, i'm basically taking a break from lifting for 3 months (save for the times when my friends invite me to lift with them) since I don't have a gym membership back home plus it would be a pointless waste of money. When I come back to the gym during the school year, I very nearly start right back where I left off.

tl;dr:>>35458527 is a fudge packing faggot.
>>
>>35463907
I know my calories. My job just burns calories and the fact that I bicycle to work. I used to be able to bulk efficiently at 2500 but that was when I did nothing but sit on PC and go to the gym. I tried 2500 when I had started lifting again and hit a plateau in 3 weeks. I simply needed 3000 calories a day and when I upped it to that I no longer had an issue.
