Do you consider yourself a big guy? If so, what routine did you use, and how long did it take?
I've been doing Starting Strength for almost a year, but I'm still a small guy.

SS is for no more than 6 months, you're doing it wrong, after 6 months you should switch to another routine, with more volume of exercise.

I do a PPL routine twice a week.

Push:
Flat BB Bench Press
Incline BB Bench Press
BB Shoulder Press
Machine Flyes
Bodyweight Dips
Triceps Pushdowns
DB Shoulder Press

Pull:
BB Deadlift
BB Shrugs
Lat Pulldowns
Lat Pulldowns (reverse grip)
Cable Rows
21s with the EZ Curl Bar

Legs:
Treadmill
BB Squats
Treadmill
BB Sumo Deadlift

You just make smaller jumps when you stall whatever weight you were adding each session.
1kg a session is still faster progression than 2.5kg a week.

Jesus fuck. Okay let's break this down. If you were adding 2kg every other session to bench, you'd be doing 156kg on top of what you started with. Assuming you're not weak as fuck to start that's at least 200kg bench.

Follow that same protocol and you just added 780kg to your squat if you're doing the 5kg that's recommended.

Yes. Without getting super-fat, I'd like to think that I've filled out my frame (no sterons).

Mostly heavy compounds. Anywhere from 3-7x per week. Heavy squatting, pulling, pressing. Not rocket science.

Also, you have to actually try hard (just saying).

at 6', 215lb, no, I don't consider myself a big guy.
There are people I know who consider me a big guy, but to me you need to be full on beast mode.

Most of my mass was put on while working 10 hour shifts as a roadie, pushing crates, carrying heavy shit, and loading up trucks. Essentially one big volume training routine.

I go to the gym mainly to build my biceps and delts, which are fairly undeveloped compared to the rest of me so anything is going to be useless for actually getting big.
