wrestling IS pretty damn good. honestly it could go either way, it depends on how the wrestling goes. however, hitting the heavy bag hard is absolutely brutal, and I'd probably give that my vote overall

Punching the bag is about hitting object that doesn't move
Wrestlign is about trying to physiocally dominate a man who is trying to dominate you.

We had a couple bags in our mat room that we would mess around with before practice. Every blue moon when the mat room was open we would have little boxing sessions and it was pretty freaking exhausting.

Manlet detected. Muy thai's highest weight class is 155. A sport for little people by little people.

Boxing is superior imo. More gentlemanly than kicking arts. Also you take more facial punishment as a boxer. One kick to the head and youre out, but a boxer is required to take hundreds of punches without going down

Long story short, your average boxer beats your average 135lb cambodian no matter how many other 135lb cambodians he's kicked

Is that true about weight classes? Even in the US? Looking at starating martial art but I've worked hard for 210 at 13% and would not drop enough muscle for 155 lol let alone being 155 at 6'3

Prowler, farmers walk, sprints and other conditioning tools are better forms of cardio because...
>they are not techical
>easily manipulated to drive adaption
>can target phosphocreatine or anaerobic energy systems
>quantifiable in terms of progress
>builds workload capacity
Boxing is good for boxing and ok for everything else

>>
>>35362761
as someone who practices MT I disagree with you. MT is definitely slower and more relaxed than boxing simply due to the fact that you have more tools and more avenues of attack.
>>
>>35362848
As a boxer,, if it was me in that kind of fight, I would just stay in my opponents chest and throw super close range hooks and uppers.

No reason to give a kickboxer room for middle and long range blows like spinning backhands and leg kicks. And as long as I'm throwing hooks and uppers, a knee is unlikely. So my biggest issue is regular hits which I'm trained to deal with, and elbows which is what I would concentrate on.

Its not a surefire strategy, but that seems like the best approach to the fight.
>>
>>35362634

Best cardio is interval sprinting.

You can make it harder by doing longer sprints, more sprints or shortening rest.

Distance running is for homos.

Are you fucking retarded? Why would you want to take more punches to the face you utter cretin just kill yourself. You even said one kick to the face and you're out, so muay is better then because it's more efficient?
>>
so to some of the boxing and MT fags, i decided to take up a martial art and i don't subscribe to the fedora-tier kung fu or karate, or it's because of the mcdojos here.

regardless, what would you suggest, boxing and mt. which one could offer more opportunity for competition and for fast progress ?

Humans have a fluid filled pouch that surrounds their brains and prevents concussions. Boxing gives a lot of micro-concussions which cause development of that fluid pouch. It can lead to stupidity, but it also leads to being inconcussible which is an invaluable trait in fighting.

Those micro concussions dont really exist as much in muy thai because one shin to the head and its generally over. Im not saying kickboxers are pussies, just that theyre not as tough as boxers. And thai men stand about 5'6" on average.

Running
>>
>>35363406
It's quite the opposite. "Training concussions" does not prevent you from getting knocked out; in fact, people who have been knocked out a lot are even more likely to be knocked out.
>>
>>35363219
Boxing will give fast progress, and most boxers are able to compete in amateur boxing tournaments and fights competitively. Muay Thai will also give quick progress, but alot of MT fighters in the U.S. move to MMA or Kickboxing because the competitive Muay Thai scene is relatively small. Either one is great, it really is just preference.

Random question,
What is a good punching bag for just punching mid and high just for cardio mostly. Do i need a full 70 lb bag for the weight? Anyone using it would be about 6ft strong but not built by any means.

pic unrelated
>>
Idk why people advocate hiit better for your cardio vascular system. It may be better for you leg muscles but running a longer distance is far more effective since it pushes you to go for a longer time with an elevated heart. It makes your endurance better and more effective than sprinting. It's like you people don't even enjoy running.

mma sparring. Kicking is more tiring than punching but throw in some wrestling and its blows boxing out the water

No it's not.

I think he's trying to distract because Thai boxing is a lot better cardio than regular boxing.

Them kicks, knees, and clinching mang.

>>35362953
I think you mean "MT" bro. Boxers are not judged based upon their cardio. They are based on performance between many rounds. In actual MT, the pace starts slow, and then increases. There are a few reasons for this. First, it is for gambling, second is how the judging works. In MT, you could have won the first round, the second and third, but you can still lose.

The last rounds are judged the heaviest, the first round basically doesn't even matter. If in the final rounds, you are breathing very heavy and starting to look sloppy, you lose (provided your opponent doesn't also look the same). They watch for your form deteriorating. They watch how hard you are breathing.
>>
>>35363219
Well, there is more to Muay Thai, so the learning curve is higher, especially for clinch. That doesn't mean you can't start competing soon though.

>>35363406
You are a moron.

>>35363501
They give different adaptations bruh. Low intensity cardio is the foundation for higher intensity. Also, more time should be spend on low intensity than high.

I would also like to add that there is no "best cardio"

I think the OP seems to have the idea that whatever makes you the most tired is the best, which is silly.

Different forms of cardio cause different adaptations to your body. There can only be a best cardio for your particular goals under your particular circumstances. Generally for a sport, the sport itself is your best cardio (not always though).

>>35363606

Go look at sprinters then go look at runners and tell me what you see.
If you're saying I'm small because "lol cardio kills gains" you are confirmed for a fatass with poor cardiovascular health. You are the faux image of fitness. Wanting to look fit but not actually be fit. Your loss.
