Yes, it's dehumanizing, but it's the truth. Secondly, they won't put the money back into the economy. And you know how many decades we are from making space profitable in any way? It's 2015 now, and we're a couple billion dollars and a couple decades away from space mining being a real thing. NASA does it because space exploration is obviously our next step as a species, not for money.
