Well, I live in a country with nationalised health care, and obesity costs us an additional $7.5billion which comes out of our taxes.
The better looking people may be better looking by comparison, but most of us aren't just fucking 9/10s. As the average gets fatter, the number of fuckable women (or men) gets smaller, and the now "average" hams have inflated expectations because they look better than the 600lb person.
And these "normal" fatties are notorious for bullying anyone who doesn't fit into their expectations of being a fat shit.
There is also the issue that their behaviour is forced onto their children, and personally I believe malnourishment is child abuse, whether it's under or over feeding.
Normalising a diseased body, and even going further to try to portray it as appealing or as a goal, may not effect me in my day to day life, but it effects the world I live in, and I hate it.

One fat aunt ends up eating all the desserts every year.
Her husband who was previously healthy (for a normie) now has several health problems thanks to her influencing his diet.
Last year she devoured a pecan pie I made all to herself.
This year I have made a few "special" desserts, which will be placed nearest to where she always sits, including a brownie which is so packed with sugar and oil, it comes out to about 8 thousand calories.
If encouraging them not to eat doesn't work, maybe tipping them over the edge of health problems so a doctor tells them to will.

The problem is more to do with how the american government does things.
First off, the politicians are pretty much straight-out bought by the companies that sell unhealthy foods (among others). Some government branches actually have to work ways of having dairy products sell MORE.
In Europe, some of the worst offenders from the US aren't even allowed to be sold (although many unhealthy foods are still legal).
The whole world is getting fatter, but since america is freedumb-land, the companies are free to fuck up the population in the name of profit.

Obesity causes more death on this planet than smoking, alcoholism, even guns.

I find that in situations where people look like they need to get across a line or in overcrowded places in general, you should keep your head up and have an almost brooding/pissed off expression on your face. Not really much of a story but when I was a contractor my company had a gig demoing basically the whole side of a house so a bunch of care workers could move the fat bastard inside into a Ford Econoline. Fortunately I didn't have to spend much time inside but it was the most disgusting house by far that I have ever seen. It smelled like human shit. Once we got the wall and door out you could literally smell it from the street. There was garbage everywhere. We also had to construct a ramp and remove a hand rail from some steps so the fucker could be wheeled out. The main fatass that we were moving didn't say anything the whole time but breathed like a jet engine. His enabling wife who was also fat as fuck but able to walk around bitched at us the whole time though, until my friend Cody took one for the team and talked to her for about an hour (i.e. was hit on by her) so that we could work.
