Vaseline for chapped/dry lips: yes or no?
I found one hippie blog saying it was bad, but that stemmed from a whole "anti-petroleum" spiel
vaseline is for black people. Use chapstick
it's fine, try using a q tip or tooth brush to flake off all the dead skin while you use it

fortunately I'm not close to that bad, things are just feeling a touch dry, I've lost my chapstick, and its all i can find

From my experience, vaseline is much worse than chapstick.
It's more palliative than medicinal. Petrol jelly just temporarily deals with the exterior of the lips, most cheap chapstick actually seems to root out the dryness

aquaphor is better cause it has glycerine (pulls in moisture) and lanolin (smooths things out) in it on top of the petroleum, which prevents moisture from leaving your skin. alone, petroleum jelly won't do much for moisturization.
dont use if youre prone to acne, it can and will aggravate it
no one wants lip acne

Paw paw ointment bruh
dont listen to all the "its got petroleum in it, that means it bad for you!" arguements. all lip balms and moiturizers have petroleum in it. thats what holds moisture in
vaseline wont do much besides protect your lips, so they'll help prevent chapping but if they're already chapped or dry, get chapstick
vaseline does not impart any moisture, it only coats the skin and prevents moisture loss a bit

I used chapstick for 6 years OP because they made the fucking thing make your lips worse so I always had to carry around one. Don't get into it. Use actual moisturising cream on your lips I know it sounds weird but it works and prevents withdrawal.
use coconut oil or olive oil
can munch that shit too while you're at it
Udder Cream > chapstick > vaseline
