Out of all the 1/2/3/4 milestones, which one was easiest/hardest for you to achieve and why?

I ask only because I hit 1pl8 ohp for 5 last night and from what I've read online, ohp is the hardest to progress on, and the deadlift is the easiest. In contrast to this, my deadlift is struggling while my bench and squat keep going up at a normal pace.

Also, are certain builds better for certain motions? I'm a manlet btw, and have always had naturally wide set shoulders.
>>
>>35334898

Squat.

Deadlift came easy as fuck compared to the others, press came just afterwards (which is weird because I've got orang-utan arms) then bench and squat last.

A lot of that was probably form and mobility though, plus hating to squat. I've got horrible ankle flexibility and long as fuck legs so taking it from abysmal to merely terrible took way more work than it should have.
>>
Deadlifts for me I can squat 3 pl8, bench 2pl8 press 1pl8 but the most ive ever deadlifted is 160kg x 3 and my legs were shaking and felt about to snap. Not sure whta my issue is really
>>
>>35334898
1/2/3/4 is 1rm
>>
>>35335013
maybe for girls
>>
>>35335013
If that's so, then I'm probably already at 2pl8 bench. I can do 195 for 5 so I have to be really close
>>
I personally think you really reach the 1/2/3/4 milestones once you can do 5 reps of each. 1RM is easily achieved with half assed form, whereas your form is gonna be much better in the first couple reps of a 5RM.
>>
Its really important to not cheat on OHP.

thats the hardest thing to train people on.
>>
>>35334898
Squat was easy. Bench was the worst.
>>
>>35335395
tell me more about how not to cheat on OHP and what's exactly cheating here
I mean besides pushpressing because that one's pretty obvious

>>
>>35334898
OHP and Bench were a breeze

DL was bit of work

Squat was by far the hardest, but I think that was mostly due to bad form

Now squat already beat all the others in the plate race, hit lol4plaet last week
>>
>>35335411
this is a bunch of bullshit

when you start getting near 2plaet you have to bend your back to support it while resting
>>
>>35335498

if you push with an overextended back you're doing the lift wrong.

What >>35335462 is talking about is the cheat The Press, aka standing benchpress
>>
>>35335537
I'm talking about resting, you press up while straightening the spine and neck, bringing the torso and head slightly forward

When you bring it back down you can bend your back all you want for support
>>
>>35335546
yeah, no, that was not what I was talking about
>>
>>35335554

mb family. I think we just misunderstood each other. My point was not to arch your back while you press
>>
>>35335570
Gotcha, yes I agree
>>
I could OHP 1 pl8 a week or two after I started doing it. It's the only milestone I've achieved though. I recently did a 3 pl8 dead lift. I'll have a 2 pl8 bench soon I think. I will probably get the 1/2/3/4 lifts in the order they appear.

Same here, I squat 180kg but deadlift only 185kg. I think It's not normal that the dl is the hardest on 4321, but I never felt consistent on my dl technique. Inb4 quarter squat -nah. I think my lower back is too weak, my hammies do all the work when I squat and I never did any accessories on my lower back.

I hit 3plate squat 1st
1 plate OHP 2nd
2 plate bench 3rd
4 plate DL last

As of special note - I hit a 3plate front squat and 2 plate power clean BEFORE 4plate deadlift.

For some reason, that move is extremely difficult for me
>>
>>35334898
2pl8 bench was first, followed by ohp.
haven't hit squat or dl yet

i do 3/2.5/2.5/1.25 these days
>>
>tfw 1.5/1.5/3.5/4.5

Bench just wouldnt go up, relearned form with the help of a pt and now I'm back up to 1.5 pl8. Eating like a madman so I still might reach my goal before the end of the year.

Problem was that I used my shoulders too much starting out, if my retarded brother hadn't taught me how to bench and i got an actual pt I'd be long past 2pl8.

Are you talking about atg squat or bitch-parallel squat?

If we're talking about 1RM then I'm already there with OHP and bench. If 5RM then I'm a month or two away. Nowhere close to 3/4 on squat and deadlift regardless, my lower body a shit

>>
>>35338621

I started squatting a few months ago and been benching for several years.

I just can't progress my squat a lot, I have weak knees and when I try to go for extra weight, they keep caving in.
>>
>>35338471
If your OHP is as much as your bench then you have to be doing the form horribly wrong.
>>
My 5 RMs:
>OHP
62.5 kg
>BP
87.5 kg
>Squat
None due to injury, but it was my strongest lift.
>DL
Stopped caring after I stopped squatting. Easiest lift imo.
>>
>>35334898
I found OHP to be the only one that was hard to push it in 1/2/3/4. But I'm obese so 1/2/3/4 for reps isn't impressive for me at all. I feel like OHP goes up like 5lbs a month at this point.
>>
>>35335448
You need work on your form that's really abnormal.
>>
>>35334898
3 pl8 squat, then 2 pl8 bench. Still just below 1 pl8 OHP (probably around 55kg, never tried 1rm tbqh) and max Dl is 160, but le coloured muscle man website tells me that's proportional
>>
>>35338681
Oh, and:
OHP seems to progress in fast 10 kg increments between long stalls.
BP is my weakest lift and stalls a lot.
Squat was the fastest to progress and from the very beginning my strongest lift by far.
DL is nearly the same as squat but I dropped it in favour of cleans and clean pulls.
>>
>>35338607
Do you just really hate squats and didys? I'm the complete opposite of you

All 5rm kg
> 43
> 61
> 125

Bench will be the last by a long shot. Squats are there if you count 1rm, didys is a bigger gap but I'm progressing way faster than ohp.

>>
>>35338731

I just recently started doing them. I've been fucking around in the gym for quite a few years, without following any program.

Been following SS for a few months now, so my squat and dl basically came from nothing.

Can't seem to progress my bp though. I should probably eat more.

Deadlifts. Always had a strong back and glutes. No idea where from.

>Hardest
Squats. I'm 6'4" and have a bad hip from years of sitting a a desk for 12 hours a day (shift worker).

OHP and Bench stay relatively the same in progression.

So far at 4 plate dead, 255 squat, 275 bench, 155 OHP all 1RM.
>>
i just started to stall recently on all my lifts except maybe DL

37.5kg ohp
55kg bp
85kg squat
102.5kg deadlift

all 5x5. never gonna make it with my 62kg bw
>>
>>35338948
>Squats. I'm 6'4" and have a bad hip from years of sitting a a desk for 12 hours a day (shift worker).

Nice excuse. Not believable, but a solid try anyway. Your squat is shit because you lazy
>>
5'7" @ 260lbs

OHP 160x5
Bench 225x5
Squat 280x5
Deadlift 295x5
>>
Press was easy, then squat, then DL, then bench, but then I switch to ATG squats, which made squat the hardest.

Currently going for a 5 rep 1/2/3/4.
Shoulder press was again easy AF, currently shooting for 155. Then bench and DL tied (though I switched from touch and go DL to full stop, which slowed that) and my squat still isn't quiiiite there yet. Get 295x5 atg, but then finals hit and I haven't gotten the 300 yet.
>>
Squat was the easiest. Then deadlift and OHP. Bench was and still is the hardest. I can hit 2pl8 for 5 but every time is just as difficult.
>>
OHP/PC/BP/SQUAT/DL (kg): (32.5, 42.5, 40, 77.5, 80)

Why
>>
tfw squat is 405 and deadlift 465, but bench 225 :DDDDD

Trex mode
>>
5'11 185, lifting for 14 months.

Got a 3pl8 squat in 7 months, got a 1pl8 OHP in 8 months. got a 4pl8 deadlift in 12 months, and got a 2pl8 bench in 12 months

Now after 14 i can do:
180kg squat x4
200kg DL x1
105kg bench x5
65kg Ohp x8

5 reps is too easy. You can't really say you're doing that weight unless it's comfortably for 3x12.

Not really. You're still relatively untrained, meaning your current ratios don't really matter.

I didn't start overhead pressing until I had a 120kg bench, started with 45kg for sets of 8.

So I suppose that one is gonna be the easiest.

Learn to load your hamstrings properly. I've only ever met one person whose DL was worse than his squat, even if he was lifting heavy on all of them. His problem was he wasn't loading his hammies well. His DL instantly increased linearly for awhile until it was well beyond his squat.

Try doing Romanian DLs for awhile until you get the hang of how to activate the right muscle groups throughout the movement.

Bench is hardest.

I've hit more plateaus on deads, but as long as I suck it up and do the work I can slowly build my squat.

I've always had strong shoulders but a waist & hips about the same as my chest at nipple level. I'm not extremely tall or long limbed.

I tthink years of light labor and hobbies where I had to get forearm endurance have made the press and deads where I can best grip the bar & get stable.

He used to teach the strict press as well until he realized that only about 1/3 of the people at the seminars actually learnt the correct way to press which wasn't the problem with the squat, the deadlift and the bench press.

It's fine in my book, for whatever that's worth. It's a good way to incorporate a stretch reflex without making it into a push press and keeping the shoulders and tris the limiting factor in force production.
