I posted on the cbt thread but got like one response.

6'0 188lbs

I've been bulking for like 5 months, lifting seriously for the same (fucked around prior), but now I feel like it's time to cut. I really dislike having this extra fat on me. Do I continue the bulk or is it finally time to cut?

5RMs:
Squat: 235lbs
Bench: 150lbs
OHP: 115lbs
Row: 155lbs
Deadlift: 295lbs
I also really feel like the fat is just masking what muscle I do have...

Also, you can't see my legs, but they're pretty disproportionately big. My routine is SS, with curls and tricep extensions added at the end.
>>
>>35300359
You don't have enough muscle mass yet to cut bro. Train for like another year at least. I mean your chest is tiny, arms small, no delts
>>
>>35300400
but im fat as fuck f.a.m.

Actually you may be right, because the lighting here is shitty. This attached pic was taken around 3 weeks ago, in better lighting
>>
>>35300359

how much weight did you gain in those 5 months OP?
>>
>>35300455
171-> 188

I didnt eat enough at first to maintain SS progress (obviously)
>>
>>35300446
You're tiny bro. You're a long way from being ready to cut. Keep training and eating big, I believe in you.
>>
well just for the record OP, I'm 5'11 and recently bulked to 220, and cut back to 200 over 3 months. I would advise you to get on a brosplit and spend more time in the gym
>>
>>35300502
Okay. You really think I shouldn't worry about the fat gain? I feel like I'm at 20+%
>>
>>35300528

with your limited lifting experience, you should be able to lose fat and gain muscles at the same time. You should be spending 2 hours at the gym, 5-6x a week.
>>
>>35300359
Shave your body
It's either full carpet or bear skinned
You're in fucking chest hair limbo and it's awkward to look at
>>
>>35300523
i thought brosplits were a meme though?
>>
CUT CUT CUT
Dont listen to these faggots who bulk for more than 3 months. Do you want to keep being a fatfuck for one year more? No you dont, just cut, and then you can clean bulk again, and youll be able to see your gains this time.
>>
>>35300584
they're not. SS is for powerlifters, SS will make you "strong". brosplits are for aesthetics.

Olympia winners are the best in the world to "sculpt" their body, and they're all on brosplits.

Benchpress, squats, deadlifts and OHP are great, but you need isolation movements as well
>>
>>35300612
yeah and the cut will only take me like 9-10 weeks if I do it right

I really dislike looking like shit despite putting in a lot of effort, need to shed the fat
>>
>>35300359
Keep going, bro. Those aren't very good lifts for a guy your size, but it's only 5 months so keep at it. Are you still making good progress?

I just started making good progress again after I started eating more (3800-4000 cals a day). Bench was finally starting to go up for the first time in months.
>>
>>35300634
>>35300666
Seems like you're stalling in your progress man, if i were you i'd cut and then ill go for a intermediate program.
Dont go over 500kcal surplus bro, avoid getting fat.
>>
>>35300678
My progress has just started coming back on SS

I flew through old plateaus these past 2 weeks, benched 150 3x5 which used to be damn near impossible for me, and it felt REALLY light. I think I just wasn't eating enough before, because I wasn't gaining any weight, and wasnt getting stronger.
>>
>>35300704
If thats the case
>cut
>get back to SS until you stall again
>move to an intermediate program
>>
>>35300736
so cut for sure?
>>
>>35300490
Aim for a gain of a half lb a week or 2lbs a month.
Your weight can fluctuate 10 lbs in a day, make sure you're weighing your lowest and your highest. Lowest will usually be in the morning after you take a shit and heaviest will be at the end when you have food in you.

Trying to bring up my chest before nex competition season
>>
>>35300628
You're fucking retarded. Olympia winners are also on gear which is exclusively whi brosplits are for. This has been studied again and again, full body is ALWAYS better for novices across the board. And by across the board I mean they will get more size AND strength than just doing a brosplit.
>You need isolations!
If you actually read SS you wouldn't be saying this. SS tells you to add accessories and isolations as you see fit, retard.
>>
>>35300883
Johnny Napalm?
>>
>>35300898
I said the classic compound SS lifts are great, but to incorporate them in a brosplit

You said SS is far better, but then again it suggests doing isolations (brosplit)

What are we arguing about here?
>>
>>35300961

You either have no idea of what SS means or no idea of what a brosplit is. Possibly both.
>>
>>35300883

you can't have a tattoo of a guy in a mohawk... while you're actually a guy with a mohawk. That's like getting a tattoo of a butt, on your butt
>>
>>35300913
I wish lol
One little kid asked me if I was him once backstage. That kid has a bright future unlike me lol
>>
>>35300969
SS = starting strenght = focus on compound lifts

Isn't it what SS is about? You tell me.
>>
>>35300972
I actually have a tattoo of a butt on a butt on my butt.......I watched a lot of bevis and butt head growing up
>>
>>35300982

SS is a specific program, not just 'focus on compound lifts'. Likewise, a brosplit is a particular sort of program, not just anything that has isolations.
>>
>>35300984
bullshit. please prove it and you shall be redeemed
>>
>>35300961
Adding isolations to a strength program does not make it a brosplit. It makes it a balanced strength training program.
A brosplit literally hits each muscle group once a week. It is absolutely less efficient in every way.
You think Arnold got as big and strong as he did doing only splits? No, he did strength training for many years. Only when he hopped on roids did he turn to a brosplit for sarcoplasmic hypertrophy which is only really feasible with gear in the first place.
Let's see a pic of you so we can see just how great a brosplit has worked out.
>>
>>35300961
>If you add isolations to ss it becomes a brosplit
Confirmed for stupid.
>>
>>35300986
well explain the program then
>inb4 "read it up"

I'll tell you my brosplit.

1-triceps/pecs
benchpress, inclined benchpress, plus all types of chest/triceps isolation machines

2-leg abs
squats, lunges, calf raises and a shitload of abs exercises

3-back/biceps
deadlift, pullups, chinups, rows, bicep curls, back or biceps isolations

4- sboulder /abs/ forearms
all isolations, I don't OHP, shoulder isn't back 100%

So is that a brosplit to you?
>>
>>35301034
oh and I train 5 or 6 times a week, I take breaks whenever I feel like it

To be honest you look like shit. You have barely any muscle mass so cutting won't really do anything but make you lose the minimal gain you have.

Breh It's entirely up to you but you have 3 options.

1. Try bulk and burn fat at the same time. This is definitely possible, I've seen it right in front of me and the guy who did it was getting regular dexa scans. BUT its hard af and you may end up just spinning your wheels.

2. Bulk and get fat. Breh there's a reason fat people hate exists. You're susceptible to so much shit. Like gyno and all kinds of diseases and you look like shiiiiiit. I know you're skinny but I just don't think it's worth it. Also at higher bodyfat you're more likely to put on more fat. The fatter you get the more your fat cells replicate and you can't completely get rid of actual fat cells, only reduce them.

3. Cut for like a few weeks max. And you'll still look like shiiiiiit. But at least not shiiiiiit with diseases and health complications. Then get back on the bulk train.

It's up to you, choose wisely.

hi
>>
>>35305687
Okay, but which do YOU personally think would be best?

A couple more things to consider:
>I was bloated as hell in this picture, the second picture I posted is a better one
>It's about to be winter here, which means its gonna be cold as SHIT, and so I'll be in heavy clothing a lot
>I already dropped >35lbs of fat around a year ago and know I could definitely do it again
>my lifts suck dick but were finally getting better when I started eating enough for SS
>ive tried to "recomp" before and couldnt get stronger at all, spun my wheels for like 3 months

thoughts? Thanks for the input, by the way.

this one from the side. I'm not sucking anything in. I don't really have a belly, so maybe I should keep bulking?
>>
>>35306002
Skinny fat af.
Try lifting heavy shit before even thinking about cutting.
>>
>>35306020

What's going on with your ribs mate?

Start doing chest twice a week
>>
>>35300883
Hahaha, cool look bro, reminds me of highschool
>>
>>35306020
cut down to 12 percent body fat so roughly 165-170 lbs and don't get fat with your bulk. Eat at a 300 cal surplus max for atleast 1.5 years. If you aren't getting stronger, fix your programming. Anyone who tells you to bulk is retarded. Don't recomp because that's a waste of time. Godspeed.
>>
>>35306989
Will do. That won't even take that long, maybe like 10-12 weeks tops, and then I can bulk worry free. I already cut from 205->170 around a year ago, but I did it really stupidly and without lifting, so I became sp00ky.

Obviously I won't look good after my cut (too little muscle), but do you think I'll at least look better?
>>
>>35307019
Depends on how fast you cut. But considering 10-12 weeks, you'll probably look better.
>>
>>35307108
I was thinking 1600-1800 calories per day?
>>
>>35307125

You're better off finding out what works for you. Start at 2000 calories and track your weight loss over a week or 2. The knowledge you gain from this will help tremendously when you begin your bulk. Calculators are bullshit for the most part.
>>
>>35306989
>>35305934
Yeah what that guy said is what I think is best, just a short cut to avoid getting too fat. I don't know what the key to recomping is. I know it's possible but I always hear of people spinning their wheels.
>>
>>35307718
What happened for me was I gained 0 lbs of muscle, lost 0 lbs of fat, and put like 20 lbs on every lift in a period of 8 weeks. Not worth it.

I don't intend to cut for more than like 12 weeks, which is likely longer than necessary.
>>
You look terrible, now back to your containment thread
>>
>>35300359
Looks like you fucked up your diet.

Do lean gains and start doing greyskull lp.
