Hey /fit/, Anyone have any solutions that can get rid of acne scars? I used to have horrible acne and I was an idiot for popping them and now my have has ice pick scarring. This really affects my self confidence and any help would be appreciated.
>>
literally no over-the-counter product will fade them. You have two options:

>wait for years and hope they fade away
>get laser treatments to heal them

Realistically, especially if you have deep scars like the ones in the pic, only lasers will fade them. Don't buy into the hype of "omg I put a plumb, a pear, and a oatmeal packet up my ass and my acne scars went away!" Save up and get the lasers

other than costing $500 a pop, there's nothing to be scared of. Your acne scars will literally vanish unless they're really deep like your picture. And even so, the lasers will make them almost non-existent.
>>
>>35291717
For the oatmeal cookie face looking fuckers, only laser will work. If it's just discolored start using some alpha/beta hydroxy acid cleansers or retinoid creams.
>>
I pop my zits all the time and the most I get is discoloration for a couple weeks
How does ice pick scaring happen?

DERMA ROLLER OP

I don't have ice pick scarring myself all I have is some hyper pigmentation (discolor red mostly red) scars and it worked for them and derma rollers are supposed to be even better on box car ice pick and rolling scars

Buy one and buy some vitamin c cream

Take vitamin A, D, E, C, ZINC daily and drink 2 gallons of water

Also moisturize

>>
>>35292649
I think laser leaves a mark if you have dark skin.

if you go skin needling then buy a dermastamp 1.5mm or higher and numbing cream instead of going to some clinic, you'll save ALOT of money.
I went in for 6 dermapen treatments and it did shit all for my scars.

and whatever you do don't do a chemical peel it'll make your scar look even worse and thin your skin bad
>>
I've been doing chemical peels 2 times a month, it's gotten better. Takes around 3 minutes per treatment. I left it on once for 5 when my dermatologist told me to wash it off and it burned away some skin. Also got injections to get rid of scar tissue on my nose from acne.
>>
>>35291807

In the past year and a half my zits went from the typical inflamed, pussy zits teenagers get to these bizarre, sesame seed like things.

Instead of being infected or anything, it's just a plug in a pore. But when you get it out it leaves a little hole.

Most of the time they disappear, but if it's a particularly big one, or it gets reopened during healing, it will form on of those little depression scars.

Mine are nowhere near as bad as the pick in the OP, though, just a few small ones scattered on each cheek.

Not quite true, they tend to develop harlequin icthyosis, which is essentially excessive skin growth that forms plates and is easily infected.
Pic related.

If you want real pics just Google it, I didn't post them because this is a Christian board and those deformities are unholy abominations.

4chan in one post, gentlemen.
>>
>>35291597
Your skin has different layers, and what's happening there in that pic is scar tissue has formed across different layers and then tightened over time pulling some of the skin in. By far the quickest and most effective solution would be a subcutaneous incision to break the scar tissue and then maybe a small amount of temporary filler inserted to stop the scar tissue band forming again so easily. This all works better if you take a baby aspirin for a couple of weeks before the procedure (you get a fuller plug of blood in the incision space so it plumps put better and generally heals better) and some bromelaine as that should help stop the scar reforming and can diminish it somewhat.

For an otc type alternative, a decently sized dermaroller (> 1mm) once every 6 to 8 weeks gives impressive result tho it's neither as quick nor as effective. It is considerably cheaper tho. The baby aspirin and bromelaine also help here too.
>>
>>35291597

>>
I've heard that the scars come from the acne forming, not from popping them.
>>
Does anyone know the best treatment to recieve?
I'm more than happy to spend $2000 or more if it will finally rid me of these scars. I also have over a month of leave accumulated so if it's possible to fix it within a couple of months I'm more than happy to do so.
>>
>>35296690
Not really true, my Sophomore year of high school is when my cystic acne got really really bad and I would pop them left and right until I finally got my prescription of accutane but every day I look in the mirror and regret popping them because it left me soft scars everywhere. Not deep ice pick ones thankfully but you can tell I used to get them on my forehead and sides of my face.

short term look up paula's choice scar serum, it a bit expensive for a small bottle but it's worth it, you might need to used it a year before u notice difference but it does work

Women would have Quasimodo babies if they were preggers while taking it. And since its the doctors ass if he proscribes it without checking his bases they are very serious about it. They dont even give a fuck if you have an implant or IUD, they still make you come in every month and piss on someone or another just to make sure.

Fortunately most people only need one or two cycles of it So like 6 to 8 months AT MOST. And as far as I know, as long as your doctor isnt a retard and slamming you with the max dose right off the bat the most you will have to worry about is chapped lips and dry skin.

My rating: 9.5/10
Do it. Do it as soon as you can. Its worth it. Just do your research. Just ask your doctor to start you low and work your way up (which is what they are told to do anyways) if you are paranoid about liver damage.

One 3 month cycle and It got rid of my cystic and vulgaris acne. I rarely get blackheads anymore. I can literally use come fucking cevera soap twice a day and some moisturizer if im feeling dry and thats it. Catch it early and save yourself the scars.

OP fucked up and let himself get crater face so now he is going to have to get laser treatments ontop of a couple other things to look normal again.
>>
>>35291832
Salicylic acid helps with razor burn. Dont put on fragrances or other bullshit right after you shave either. It can irritate your skin and fuck you up.
>>
>>35292604
This is basically the best route you can go besides getting lasers and shit. However you should be taking those vitamins and staying hydrated already. The derma roller has tiny baby needles that poke holes just big enough to excite the bodies healing response. Ups collagen production.

C creams will help with discoloration. Get a good toner too. However you have to be careful with C creams because a lot of them are jank as shit and can break you out.

If the shit ruptures and the skin gets irritated is leads to scarring. Best thing you can do it to try not to pop them. And if they do end up popping, try not to pick them and find a way to lessen the irritation. If mine popped or got too irritated I would gently wash it with mild acne soap and put a cold rag on it for a bit.

Thank you. I've been so scared to get a prescription but at this point I've done enough research and decided that it's worth the risk of even Crohn's disease to have clear skin. I've let acne take way too much from me, so many opportunities and invitations turned down because my skin wasn't "good enough."
I'm already 24 and my outbreaks show no signs of slowing down. I'm young enough and have taken care of my skin well enough that I can deal with the residual scarring, but only if I do what I can now before any damage accumulates on my face. I've already made a doctor's appointment and he was no help at all but I won't let that keep me from finding another doctor to help me take care of this.
