I've been doing some light lifting, just messing around with the machines for 15-20 mins after my cardio really. I don't have that much muscle on me, could muscle growth really be cancelling out the fat loss? I'd be nice if that was the case but I don't have any way of knowing

Don't get demoralized. If what you're doing isn't working, then it means you're doing something wrong. Don't get upset fix it. That's something you have to accept early on. Everyone goes through the same learning process.

2 weeks is a short period of time. Remember long term is the goal. When you begin you have to understand that the curennt number on the scale isn't as important as the progress it tracts. Weight, bf%, lifts, etc. Are meant to be long term indicators that's why charts are important.

Might be bioscience, but it just makes intuitivesense to me that since protein has to go through more processes to be utilized for energy, it's less energy efficient as a macromolecule t. it also makes sense that since you need the amino acids from protein to make all of the other proteins in your body (most importantly muscle) you're not getting the full amount of calories that are on the lable

Again, I know almost nothing about nutrition, I just shove as much protein into my body as I can and try to stay under 1800 cals. Lost 70lbs and haven't stalled yet.

Look you can get away with it for a while since you do wiegh more but it won't help the long term.

I drink a protien shake for breakfast and lunch then ate a full meal for dinner. Lost like 40 lbs in 5 months. On top of free wieghts and cardio. Great results but it did nothing for my long term goals. And I felt like shit. Only reason I survived was because I had a prescription to adderal. Suppressed my appetite and gave me enough energy to get to work. Horrible decision though because it destroyed my core strength and I had to spend alot of time rebuilding everything.

Biggest piece of advice. Don't worry about day to day. Think in terms of months not weeks. It sucks but it will payoff. A bonus bieng it helps with discipline.

if you 135kg, its because you dropped calories way to fast and your body thinks your dying of a lack of food. So its stop/slowed your metabolism.

Go back to what you were eating before and take it day by day.
So eat like you use to eat for a week again, record everything so you know your normal intake. Then after the week, take 100cals off per day then platue on a calorie number feels comfortable to you. Stay here until you're weight doesn't fall any further.
Now do some cardio rather than drop more cals. Then when that platues go back to dropping cals and repeat.

Instead of cardio do barbell complexes, farmers walks, work with sleds and prowlers, jump rope and HIIT.

The most efficient bodies are the ones with a high metabolic set point; they need to most fuel because they are efficient at burning fuel.

Theres a law of burning energy as your body exists. Many people experience a swoosh effect where all the weight loss seems to happen at once. What happens is the fat cells shrink but get filled with water, holding their size for sometime before they deplete.

walking is okay, there's not really a formula to calculate that you're able to walk X miles with Y weight but rule of thump you can use is if your hips and knees hurt no reason to keep on pushing, weightloss is diet.

excercise is great and important for health in general, but no reason to kill your joints just so you can walk five steps further without losing your breath.

I'd recommend using an excercise bike (or swimming if that's available for you), easy on the joint and a great way to get some cardio

i was having the same fucking problem.

turns out i was basically starving myself

went from 1500kcal to 1800kcal a day, and dropped the cardio from an hour to 20 mins a day.

the fat started fucking melting off.

lost 3lb in 2 day to start with, and then it was averaging .4lb a day.

it's like... all the weight i should have lost all got shed as soon as i started eating a little bit more...

currently i am averaging .2lb lost a day, following the same plan (1800kcal a day, 20 mins cardio a day)

that is a 14,000kcal deficit... roughly 4 pounds.
