Very interesting stuff.
If the nutritional value was maintained(or even improved), and if it becomes cheaper than meat, would /fit/ switch to plant based meat?

>low-quality protein etc.
no

This start up looks quite promising. I wouldn't mind trying it out once, though I doubt they would get the taste right.
>>35205293
shit's expensive yo
Considering that the meat industry is terrible for the environment, yes.
>>35205354
The costs are bound to go down eventually, with better technology
>>35205293
I'd like to see the protein composition of that. If it's alright compared to meat and the price not astronomical, then I see no reason why not.
>>35205293
Sure why not
Have fun fighting off the man boobs from all the phytestrogens in this shit!

May I suggest you go do some reading on pubmed before making any such further statements?
>>35205293
its okay just dont call it meat. If you make up words like 'fibrous', you can make up a word for this as well. Meat comes from animals. This is not meat.
>plant based meat
thats not meat

May I suggest that you that you do some reading up on pea and soy protein and the hormonal reactions they cause on humans. Try pubmed.
The protein in this highly processed "stuff" is not very absorbable, it scores around a 40 (whey = 100) so you'll have to eat more of it. Keep that in mind.

See you in 40 years then
