I've just lost my foam roller virginity. At first it felt painful as fuck, but then it felt amazing. Especially my legs feel like new. Why aren't you foam rolling yet /fit/?

Why did you fuck a foam roller?
>>35202215
This time I was on receiving end, but maybe next time I'll get one of these hollow ones so they can become something multipurpose.
>>35202205
What is it for?
>>35202266
muscle sex
>>35202283
So it's like giving yourself a massage? Worth it?
Anybody have long term results? Does it help anything?
>>35202288
It exactly is massage - self-myocardial release.
As for results, I've just got it but lately my leg muscles felt stiff post-workout, like walking on sticks. Today is break day for me, but I did some exercises with it and god damn, legs feel like legs again.

Hm. Might have to try it out. Took like 2 years off of lifting, lost my gains and got fat. Now that I'm going back in I'm sore for like 4 or 5 days afterwards.
>>35202288
faster recovery, helps alot for backpains, def worth it
>>35202320
Myocardial? You're releasing you heart muscle cells? Pls explain
>>35202320
tbf you cant really call foam rolling a massage as a proper massage achieves a lot of things that foam rolling doesnt. some shear force has to be applied during a massage to break adhesions and stretch fascias, and the direct compression provided by a foam roller/PVC and your bodyweight has no shear component.
>>35202288
Yes it loosens your joints and it feels like a blow job but on the point of your body you're massaging.
>>35202436
Not that anon, but myofascial, not myocardial. He's a numbnut
>>35202436
>>35202681
yes, myofascial, my bad, I'm a numbnut

Foam rolling is a meme. No one that's lifted longer than 3 months wastes their time on that shit, but i am glad that you like it.
What are these foam rollers you speak of? Do they do a similar job to my finger box?
>>35202205
I am, cunt. I foam roll and stretch before every workout. I feel so warmed up and loose m80.
>>35203082
is there any particular foam rolling or stretching routine that you'd recommend?
>>35203082
That picture in this thread is exactly what i do each time i foam roll. Youtube is good too m8
>>35202288
>>35202363
>>35202629
Not only that, but it also allows you to engage more of your muscle fibers because you get rid of the tightness. Which leads to faster gains
>>35202283
>adductors
>>35203148
But it's correct you triple nigger. The abductors are almost at the same height as your glutes, the adductors are what is shown in this image,
>>35202812
nobody who has lifted longer than 3 months neglects mobility and foam rolling.

We have to use one daily, when i first started with one i thought it was pretty dumb. now i can't wait till after practice and have been using them 5-6 times a week since the summer. can also use it on your spine w/out damage.
