yeah
No, that's a recipe for breaking your shit off.
IMO, if you can't get your back near 45 conventional, try semisumo or trap bar. If that doesn't work go full sumo.
Impressing internet strangers with lift numbers is not worth permanent back injury unless you're a total retard sheep.

Rowing from the floor is pretty memelord too, though for different reasons.
Investigate the anatomy of the lats and so long as what you're doing is pulling your elbows backwards your lats will be worked.
Worst burn I ever got in my lats was from yates rows.

Good job OP. You fucked up.

>not realizing that there are more muscles to be worked on your back other than your lats

That's alright. Tiny bit of flexion is arguably fine, extension is a no no.

Mehdi is an idiot, don't do his shit.
And about rows, they are fine as assistance. Im my opinion, for high volume dumbbells are far better. Pull/chin ups, Deadlifts and even Cleans variations are better choices as core pulling exercise for strength/conditioning.

Lifting your back angle above 0° (parallel to the ground) shortens the range of motion for the exercise. It's a cheat rep (unless you're trying to do a different kind of row).
Also bent over barbell rows are supposed to hit your upper back more than your lats.
